FUCK the writers. I've literally never seen an anime with as much potential as Arc-V. Fucking Komoney and the writers (and the FUCKING MOVIE) ruined Arc-V by shilling nostalgia and slow-paced booster cover cards. There was 0 reason to have RDA Scarlight (or even Rune-Eyes or EnPal) as cover cards.SVFD should've been revealed and released a long time ago, while Xyz arc should've been longer and DM cameos should've appeared. ALL cameos should NOT have stolen the spotlight from original Arc-V characters. IMO Xyz was meant to be longer and filled with more potential characters but the writers decided to kill off all the Resistance except for Xyz Shinji in order to make up for the monstrous mistake that was Synchro. If the damn producers knew that Arc-V was only allowed 3 years by Konami, then they shouldn't have squandered 1/3 of it in Synchro. To make matters worse, Arc-V's budget was leeched dry by a crap movie that featured a horrid Fusion Shinji as the main protagonist. So not only did Arc-V turn to shit but it's animation rapidly went to shit. Fuck this bullshit, somebody's better make Arc-V great again through a fanfic.

Because support is all over the place. Take Red-Eyes. It has a lot of support, but it's not the type of deck that can do several things and still be good. You need to focus on one facet of Red-Eyes or else your own support just ends up getting in the way.

Plus, normal monsters are no good anymore. Except Blue-Eyes because that at least has good attack and pairs well with Trade-in.

The difference between those shows and this one is that they are designed to tell a story and finish. Yugioh is meant to shill cards first, tell a story second. Edo vs Yuya is already going to be 3 episodes. We have at least 3 main sets coming out before Arc-V ends. Meaning they need to have a large enough variety of cards to fill those sets.

This has been the first YGO series I've followed episode-to-episode in a long time, I started streaming 5ds long after it had ended for card games in motorcycles lulz and ended up liking it, skipped Zexal since reviews were horrendous and didn't like what little I saw, started watching arc-v and coming to these threads around the time of Mieru's duel with Yuya and man it was a lot of fun, I hate that its potential was squandered like that. /a/rc-v when the series was good was some of the most fun posting ever.

I find it funny how people complain so much about the friendship cup when it really only dragged for like the first 10 eps of it (which were still interesting to varying degrees). The rest of it from King's Gambit onwards was well implemented and rather solidly paced for the most part.

I would probably also complain if there were signs of shit getting rushed, but so far we've taken multiple eps to establish the players in XYZ, arguably more than we need, so I don't think that's really something to worry about.

Does it bother anyone else that we haven't seen a single xyz besides Dark Requiem in the set yet? I really fucking hope that they don't waste any slots on the twins or Allen. I swear he and Sakaya exist as nothing but zexal references without using more old characters. I would of taken Kotori and Anna for real over these two.

I felt like it was necessary to get some understanding as to how the other dimensions worked since if we went from Standard to XYZ, there'd be a lot of questioning as to "why isn't synchro doing anything at all," so I rather like the time we took to learn how the world worked and I really like how it forced Yuya to reevaluate his entame in a way no other dimension really could.

You're right that a lot of the stuff could've been done in XYZ, but I think overall it was time generally well spent for the sake of Yuya's arc which genuinely is affecting things in fairly interesting ways now.

To be fair, everything from the academia attack onwards has been pretty consistently good about providing opportunities for lancer interactions. The only points that really lacked that were the early-mid fortune cup duels which were like pre-maiami duels except more important than michie, hokuto, or eita.

All that's really missing right now is a look back at the Reiji side of things to capitalize on the time spent on those characters, since that's what I'd say makes them feel like something of a waste currently, kinda like how michie got his bit of time in the spotlight to make us remember he wasted two eps, only for him to end up playing an important, if minor role later in that same arc.
