What if the next series really IS about a grown-up with a son or daughter that is forced to get back into the game after being an office worker since he graduated university? It would be a great way to entice the older generation who "out-grew" YGO by targeting them with a relatable character who has to learn about Synchro, Xyz, and Pendulum Summoning. Not only that, it would entice children to nag their parents about YGO, especially if the new MC (the adult) used to be good at card games but gave it up as a pipe-dream, and children are hoping their parents are secretly good at YGO too and want them to play with them.

A Citrus falls in love with a Tomato.

It doesn't matter who I name, like Crow, because they're all connected to development or a story that serves mostly as a distraction or more boring side story to whatever's going on with Academia, the dragons, or the bracelets. The final conclusion of Yuya realizing that pendulums are his 'own words' and that nakama are great is not something that needed an entire ~50 episode arc to build towards. Frankly, it came off as the writers grabbing for pretty much anything to justify the time he spent waffling on his own convictions.

Outside of the ritual spell card cost rituals are superior to double tribute summoning or even synchro summoning because you dont even need both monsters to be on the field to initiate the effect.. Fusion is superior tribute summoning infact in the GX era Fusions were fucking broken as shit due to how ridiculously easy it became summoning them, the only limit in fusoins was if they were specific but if you have something like UFOroid fighter and combine it with a random Buster Blader in your deck you can wreck your opponent's shit royally. The true limit to fusion was similiar to rituals where they needed specific spellcards to work or you could just spam Future Fusion or Future Gate and call it a day anyway. Fusion is superior to both Ritual and double tribute summoning because Fusions are in the Extra deck so they dont take up any space at all.
