Plastic Memories had some good characters in a stupid setting and with a promising Ground-Plot
it only failed when the plot had to become a more "detailed" one.

take instead Comet lucifer , they just thought that adding a cute mascot Character would give a guaranteed compensation for the Dumb nosense plot, if you make a comparison , Plastic memories look like Eden*

then again if there was a better plot like :
the Medic students in this academy got paired with aprendice Nurses (with of course less to study and less degrees , becoming "those who failed the entrance exam , like MC did) Erra-tan would be a cute Medic student with the wish of becoming a doctor to cure patient like (i don't know her deceased for cancer mother) and actually was told one years ago to have the same brain tumor and having not much left to live, having her to think all her effords would ad been wasted and not wanting to fight or even live her useless life anymore , shutting her emotions off and being just thinking to leave the academy to be alone.
That would be a good "basic settings"
