Yu Yu Hakusho was an interesting idea, but ultimately tried to imitate DBZ too much.

I mean, look at the fight with Sensui. The Chapter Black arc started out like Stand Battles in JJBA, with Genkai talking about how they needed to fight smart instead of with really powerful moves. And then the arc ends with Super Demon Yusuke vs. Super Saiyan Sensui.

Dragon Ball was brilliant up until the King Piccolo arc.
From then it wasn't bad, but it lost most of the charm.

Yu Yu Hakusho was a mediocre, repetitive mess with a terrible final arc. It has great characters, but other than that it's forgettable schlock.
HxH is Togashi's masterpiece.
