A massive rebellion explode in Japan with it's indigenous people formed an alliance called The Tribe and seize National Diet Building, execute the Prime Minister, then take hostage of the Emperor. The Tribe itself consists of many various native people such as : Azumi, Hayato, Koshibito, Kumabito, Kumaso, Mishihase, and Saeki. After the fall of Japanese Parliament, the country was thrown into confusion and chaos. The mainland itself is divided into many region where each member of The Tribe ruled them. Even after that, the member of The Tribe conspire against each other and intend to take the whole mainland for their own native tribe.

The Tribe capture most of current modern people, which The Tribe dubbed them as 'Yamato people', and turn them into slaves. But some of them managed to escape from getting capture and form a resistance called "Children of Amaterasu".

After the mainland rebellion was over, The Ainu and The Ryukyuan declared independence and claim Hokkaido and Ryukyu islands as territory of their own respectively. They refused to join The Tribe because the resentment to some of The Tribe member for past invasion. Both of them are ruled by young High Priestess Regent, chosen to lead their own people according to each native's belief.

Our MC is the last descendant of Aterui from the Emishi people. He did not join the rebellion and prefer to remain at his home (somewhere in Tohoku region) to wait the current event passes and continue on his comfortable life. However he got tangled deep into this mess as he stumbled upon Ainu High Priestess Regent herself, whom just lost the war with the Koshibito and tried to escape from the rest of her pursuer.

All MC wanted was a normal life, but unfortunately he is the chosen one with the most awesomest power.

Rather than telling adults or authorities about it, he decides to keep it for the hell of it, and accidentally discovers that if he grips it firmly in his palm, he starts to gain visions of what's currently happening in this parallel universe, almost as if he's actually there, although its denizens cannot see him, and whenever he does gain visions of this parallel universe, it's always in a regal castle and there's always a cute young princess in each scene.

Almost like a ghost, he watches this cute princess's carefree life but things start to change when her father, a king starts brutally abusing her for losing a sacred religious talisman, one that apparently lets its users see into other worlds when held firmly.

As days go on, the wall between our reality and the parallel reality grows slightly thinner, and the MC slowly finds a way to slightly influence things in this parallel universe with the help of his failed slacker pseudo-intellectual uncle who pretends to be a math genius because he read things on the internet. With a lot of bullshit pseudo-science that makes absolutely no sense outside of anime logic, and made up math equations, they devise a way to very poorly manipulate the magic-like properties of the parallel world to influence things like slight breezes, move some objects around a few centimeters, and manipulating shadows very haphazardly to try and convey a message to this princess that she's not alone.

MC practically might as well be a friendly ghost at this point.

People nowadays are not able to handle tragedies anymore, which is why you see those cheesy happy endings no matter the medium (manga, anime, movies, novels and so on).

In a galactic empire there's a story of two people

One of a revolutionary that wants to overthrow the empire and the other or a prince that who has just been crowned as Emperor. One being in the most prosperous planet while the other starting in a planet that was long since destroyed by the empire they have no awareness of each other and in the first two cours, don't even meet each other. First half of the series is all about organization with the newly crowned emperor managing the politics of his empire while the other building up is revolutionary forces into a army to be reckoned with.

When they do butt heads the emperor finds subtle difficulty trying to manage his politics and make his citizens lives better due to the destruction and problems that the revolution makes with any small action that he uses to take care of it causes big waves throughout the revolution, and by the time they realize each other exist there is no turning back for them.

I don't know man, many stories that follow this pattern end up not being successful because the audience thinks that the protag is way too cool and that what happens to him/her is a good thing, cause they refuse to see the pathos for what it is.

I means you're saying that happy endings are garbage who are you to badmouth people who think angsty anti-heroes are the only way to go. It runs on the same logic of happy and idealistic = bad and sorrow and pain = good.

Tragedies are aesops there to tell the audience what NOT to do and why they shouldn't do it. Such idealism doesn't usually exist in a grim and gritty world where everything is bad forever. Rather it exist in a world that could've been good if not for people like the MC fucking it up.

Idealism and being good ARE for babies, though, I'm just explaining you that following the basic framework of a tragedy doesn't guarantee that your story will work as intended.

And I mean, people end up turning tragic characters as role models, as if they were upholders of an ideal to follow. So the issue really isn't whether your audience believes in idealism or not, it's whether or not you manage to really convey the notion that your protagonist fucked up and that what happens to him/her sucks. And it's not as easy as it seems.

What I'm saying is, you've got your tragic protag, he's wrong and flawed but since he does what he thinks is right and since the story is told from his perspective, here's what might happen:
-"he wasn't really bad, just misunderstood, and he was right all along, what happened to him was unfair! he was good all along!"
- "he was evil, that's badass, what happened to him was cool! I should do the same!"
And neither will acknowledge your attempts to show that your protagonist fucked up. Sometimes they'll even adopt a weird hybrid position where they revel in the transgressive glamor of evilness while also claiming that it's actually good.

No. As I said, neither will admit that your character was bad.
Because being bad is NOT considered a good trait, it's always misconstrued as evil or as good. That's what allows people to fetishize pathos (I mean literally, to the point where it acquires a mystical aura) instead of just letting it inspire disgust. People are too idealistic to just admit that the protagonist is a fuckup.

So for your tragedy to work, you have to make sure that the audience ends up finding your protagonist disgusting. And that's all up to you.

Fantasy setting, Elves are full blown weird fey-folk with their own dimension. In the past of the setting, people got sick of the fey folk business, killed a bunch of them, and then the Fey-folk fucked off and ascended to a higher plane of existence, whatever.

Story follows the last of these elves, a few hundred years after the fact, and he's awkward and still out of place. His shenanigans as he travels the world, hides from the sight of people who'd probably kill and experiment on him, and whatnot.

Problem is there isn't much conflict with the idea, and seem more like it'd be a 'One story per episode' a bit like Mushi-shi I guess, since strange shit always happens when there's a Fey-folk around.

Either he accrues a harem of women who want the d, or he ends up having a bro-mance with a thief.

An underground all female visual kei punk rock group comprised of high school girls is playing live in a gig when all of a sudden there's an earthquake that completely destroys a nuclear power plant nearby.

Rather than killing them, the girls emerge from the waste with strange powers; and their over the top visual kei costumes have turned into magical armor permanately attached to their bodies and their dyed hair now glows neon with magic.

The band of 6 become visual kei super heroes while doing punk rock and high school things. Powered by their inner punk spirit they down down a myriad of over the top villains.

There's lots of fanservice and at the beginning and end of each episode the band plays a different song.

Last night, before the high school first day opening ceremony, a boy receive an e-mail from his childhood friend who he left in another city a few years ago.

It's been a while since the last time they got in touch. He was quite excited to receive the message, only to get confused with the content of the message.

In her message, she ask the boy to help her friend who's transferred to his school this year. There are no mentioned whatsoever how he should help said friend. She only dropped some vague hints that her friend has quite some problem, and that it will be fine whatever kind of help the boy can offers. Yet, in this first day of new semester, suddenly he face the fact that there are more than one students transferred here this year.

After he informs his childhood friend about this, for some reason she still only drops vague hints, refuse to tell clearly who and how he should help. He start to thinks his childhood friend only messing with him, and starts to giving up. But as the messages and hints continues, he begins to understand she's not just messing around. Something quite serious is happening and there are some secret his childhood friend decides to keep.

The one he should "help" is his childhood friend herself. She transferred to his school under different identity due to witness protection program after history of family abuse and some other things, including criminal acts done by her family members. All the hints she drops, other than protecting her real identity, is also because she hopes he still remembers her. But what will happens if in the end he doesn't recognize her and end up "helps" the wrong person?

Whatever she need to do, even if she have to takes the live of her beloved long lost friend and her "love rivals."

This is idea of my abandoned VN project.

Set in a futuristic version of the 1980s, a robot cat called LUKA is made by the KGB in its series of robo-spies to infiltrate the United States and carry out hits and intel gathering in an experiment.

Many of these robo-spies take the form of anthropomorphic animals akin to Doraemon.

LUKA is branded as a robo-cat made by a Korean company a family bought as a companion in the United States.

The series starts off as a humorous show where the family child and LUKA goes on wacky adventures together. From time to time, LUKA's sinister nature is briefly shown and slowly bought to more prominence. This becomes the focus at the climax of the anime where LUKA is ordered by the Kremlin to kill the family's father who is a prominent scientist.

LUKA having spent time bonding with the family now have to choose between allegiance to Russia or to disobey orders to save his new owners.

A total recall of all robo-pets are made nationwide when the CIA gains hold of the KGB's robo-spy program. The ending shows LUKA being forcefully taken in by the police from his family as the child he bonded with try to stop them.

The epilogue shows LUKA being opened up in a government facility, revealing how he isn't really fully mechanical and contains the brain of a child embedded with a chip, implying that the KGB's "robo-spy" programme involves the use of children...

A female alien, named Mai, is a notorious pirate, and on the run from the navy of the alien empire of a race different than her. So she decides to hide on Earth. Which is a backwater and protected against alien visitation by the empire. She is humanoid but not enough to pass as a human. Though she has a holographic disguise belt. Which she uses to hide her self and when pirating.

So she lands forest of Hokkaido and hides her ship. She then sneaks into Sapporo to gather intel on humans look and act. She ends up manga/anime shop and takes a bunch of manga and animes back to her ship. She mostly grabbed stuff like Oreimo, kissxsis, and others that kind of get incestuous. Not knowing anything about humans or japanese entertainment products, she accepts this as how things are on earth.

shes goes off to find a human boy to live his as his "cousin". after looking at several boys, she finds Shin. Shin is an orphan who lives with his grandparents, on their large old japanese styled estate. Mai introduces her self as Shin's mother sister's daughter. That she was sent up to live with Shin and the grandparents to get away from a bad crowd. Shin and the grandparents accept this and Mai moves in. Mai then joins Shin as a student in his class.

meanwhile a female alien, named Emiko, is a naval investigator officer from the empire and has been sent to earth to look for the Pirate Mai. Emiko has tracked down Mai's ship in the forest and finds the manga and anime. also not knowing how humans act or look she takes the manga and anime as reality. emiko uses a holobelt to make her self look like a high school student girl and starts investigating around Sapporo to find Mai. she spots Mai through the holobelt due to certain and wide known quick in the technology. tracks mai to the high school and inserts her self in as yet another transfer student and cousin of Shin.

Mai and Emiko know they are both who they are. They have to hide it from Shin.

When Shin or named characters are not present. Mai and Emiko fight each other. Sometimes in large running battles across the city. Where only unnamed characters see them as they really are. They also, as part of their cover learned from manga, flirt with Shin and try to get lewd with him.

Shin isn't really interested in banging a cousin. He also has a girl at school he is interested in, Suzu. Suzu only sort of likes Shin as a friend. A series of unfortunate and hilarious events in a Mai and Emiko battle, forces Suzu closer to Shin.

Half way through Shin and then Suzu learn of Mai and Emiko's true nature. Mai and Emiko's battles are halted when a threat to the alien girls' appears. An earth government agency that was tasked to keep any potential alien contact secret. They've caught on to the fighting.

Emiko gets contact from her command and they want to arrest her for violating the directive on keeping less developed races from knowing about alien life. Her ship was remotely recalled to keep her on earth until more agents could be sent to arrest her and Mai.

Humans closing in and Imperial agents coming. The four main characters get in Mai's ship and flee into space. They all end up being pirates while on the run.
