I was saying the Gourmet Hunters is where you'd first go "he's making this up as you go along" because it's the first outright bad part and feels like Togashi is just throwing out anything he can think of. I explained Menchi is an example of this poor writing because she's boring and obnoxious, which is a result of low effort: Hisoka is a fucking creepy murder guy and in the chapters just before his ass was perfectly entertaining.
