I had been hearing the theory that Rebuild was a sequel to the series (and there's a ton of evidence for that anyway), but I've never heard anyone call it a prequel. Rebuild is it its own separate continuity. It's less a sequel and more a parallel or alternate universe.
Fyutsuki is Shini's father in NGE.

Here's how it works. Shinji's classmates are chosen as Eva candidates, all having the potential to sync with future installments in the series. In the original script for 24, Kaworu mentions to a sulking Shinji that his classmates are being relocated to Germany, and bids him good luck. The MP series comes from Germany. It's barely even a stretch, it was probably removed because the series was depressing enough. Doesn't it seem weird we never see them again? I'm pretty sure Toji, Kensuke, and Hikari are absent from the EoE instrumentality sequence as well, considering they're probably dead in the MP's.

Okay so I went and looked at it again and there's really no lateral movement of her arm as if she were to slap him. She reaches up towards Shinji's face as he is uncontrollably gasping while choking her and caresses his cheek. He comes to his senses and realizes what he was just doing. Shinji then starts crying at that realization and his tears fall on Asuka's face. After some more crying she looks at him and softly says "kimochi warui".

Now with that in mind, I think that she is referencing Shinji's crying as being disgusting because she's still Asuka and feels she has to beat on Shinji for being weak. That's just my theory though.

Because Rei Q didn't demonstrate those abilities after the fact, nor any Rei before her. You're definitely suppose to assume Rei Q is the voice but it's merely coincidence and later on when 4.0 reveals OG Rei in the SDAT that scene would take on a different connotation, or so the theory supposes.

Personally I think Rei is just still in Unit 01 or melded with Yui, but it's pretty obvious that entire plotline was written out between films

Trips confirm the Emperor's will. Someone should write fanfic of Shinji's time in the Schola Progenia. They will whip him into a good servant of the Emperor. Asuka can come too because she would also be a good candidate.
