Actually just your whole post in general, it's a 100% accurate summary of the dynamic. It's not even speculation, that's pretty much all canon.

The "understand" part was interesting though, because it reminded me of an exchange in the RPG MMO Hesokuri Wars arc where Karamatsu says something and Ichimatsu "translates" what he said to the other brothers, who are like, "How do you understand him, Ichi?"

Love it. Pointless analysis:

Osomatsu's is as lazy as him, it's cramped and slanted with the least amount of effort possible. Looks like a normal pen but of course thickened for visibility on the merch folder.
Karamatsu's is ridiculous, proper calligraphy brush with huge but nice strokes. Fancy fuck.
Choromatsu's looks like it was done with a flat-tip marker, it's very clear without a ton of flair other than the natural angular detail and that comes from a flat-tip.
Ichimatsu's is like he's trying too hard, it's a ballpoint pen but drawn over and over to thicken each stroke and make it look rough on purpose. His letters aren't terrible but they are a bit harsh and stylized.
Jyushimatsu's is my favourite, completely suits him. Reminds me a bit of Korean with how rounded each stroke is, the radicals are totally malformed into cramped centers with long in and outs.
Totomatsu's is pretty similar to Osomatsu's but with a felt-tip, the characters are also significantly rounder (the 兄 is almost a circle). Trying to be cute.

"Servile" is an odd word but basically Ichi is on trial for being too passive/accepting of what happens to him. Which is why even when Kara asks for him to get the deah penalty and he reacts with "Ah, it would suit me though, just do it" it just proves him further.

They win the case most likely die to Ichi bothering to act when he gives Kara his handkerchief, so he's not entirely careless.

And I know. I've tried to like the pair but they feel pretty generic/predictable to me. The only pairing I can say I really like is OsoChoro, they're more fun to watch.

What that guy was talking about whas them aas a trip, though. Like setups where there's a Peking order in who has common sense. That being said, the trio seems to work since they can be interchangeable. Oso and Totty can be little shits together and pester Choro. Oso and Choro can slack off together (depending on how drunk he is) or succumb to the stupidity and Totty can call them out on it. Choro and Totty can argue with each other and Oso can try his best to not care.

I think my main problem with Choromatsu is he never gets comeuppance for his shittyness. He's always kinda coddled or left out of it.

Every other brother is kept in balance by being physically hurt or otherwise harshly made fun of for their existence. I feel like Chorofapsky was a weak attempt to rectify that.
