I don't really consider Dio and /DIO/ separate villains, because for a majority of Part 3, DIO spends a majority of a time tugging his Jonathan ween before he shows up at the end, then it's same old dastardly Dio except with a Stand. Not that he's a bad villain, not at all, I just think the other villains have better designs, motivations, and Stands.

Really, parts 4, 5, and 6 are all full of wasted potential. IMO part 4 and 6 still have a lot going for them even though they aren't the best they could be, but part 5 doesn't really live up to that. It's missing way too much (more fights for Abbacchio and Fugo, more detail into Diavolo's history, more lore about the arrows, a less terrible Giorno, etc).

Eh, I feel it's a really important distinction. I found DIO to be kind of an exaggeration of Part 1's Dio Brando. Dio Brando's journey was one of learning to overcome his own faults. Him and Jonathan both grew over the course of Part 1, each becoming more competent, and moving in opposition.

DIO kind of shits all over the lesson Dio Brando learned at the end of Part 1 about not underestimating his opponents, and spends the majority of his time as the part's villain standing in a mirror pinching his nipples. He shows up, screams like an autist a bunch, and then winds up defeated in the least satisfying ending to any Part in my opinion.

Jotaro attacks DIO's actual body's leg, and cracks up some bones. DIO, being a vampire, heals it up, but as it turns out ~THE WORLD ISN'T A VAMPIRE!~ So when The World kicks Jotaro instead of punching for no reason, it's attacking the weakened leg which causes the cracks.

Well, it's still a Shonen Jump comic.
Of course, it's easy to see who should have been victorious if they were using their brains well after the series has ended and we've got nothing but time to talk about it, it's another story to write it.

If we had a series where the antagonists would attack in ways that would give them the utmost advantage, then a lot of these powers probably wouldn't exist, because the writer would just be writing themselves into a hole/situation where the protagonists can't pull through without some major asspullage.

Even a chucklefuck like Alessi probably could have just waited until the gang got together, follow them into a crowd and then turn them into children, and then just snap their necks when they're alone.

But that wouldn't make for a Bizarre Adventure, would it?

One thing I do like to think about is how the major antagonist of a part could have succeeded by changing one action of theirs.

I can't see Death 13 being a major antagonist stand, because with how the powers work, I honestly can't see how the protagonists would survive. Since there are clear Freddy Kruger parallels here, remember he spends most of his movies terrorizing/killing off other cast members and running into the protagonists a few times.

When japs see onomatopoeiae they don't see "zawa zawa", they hear the sound it represents.
They would go "zawa zawa" just like you'd go "bang bang" irl because you can't recreate the sound with your mouth but you can do it in your head when reading. Araki does it a lot for atmosphere building since there are sound words for atmospheres too in japanese.
