Dark World is one of the most disruptive decks ever. They can see your hand and banish all your shit with Smog/Crow.

You're wasting cards trying to stop one or 2 decks. Mask of Restrict only stops Monarchs. Dark World, Prophecy and Nekroz don't care about that card. Qli and Monarchs do. But they're only 2 parts of the equation. You adding Nekroz absolutely destroys PePe's chances of winning. There is almost zero chance of them winning unless every other deck bricks hard. Then the question doesn't even get solved because you aren't playing against good decks running efficiently. Have PePe open broken and have the other 5 open decently and they win. Have Pepe open Godly and have the other 5 open great and they win. The only way PePe wins is if it opens broken and everything else opens poorly. Can you really say that answered the question?

With all the Veiler, DD Crow, Ghost Orges and Maxx C running around this match, somebody is opening 1.

Well, with Kaito, he recognized what he was doing wasn't working and then changed tactics when Yuto suggested leveling with him through XYZ summoning. It didn't solve the issue, but it DID get him closer to kaito than either Gon or Sawatari's efforts, which only antagonized him further. So, it wasn't really a failure so much as just "not enough."

With Edo, he was in MUH TOUSAN mode and was basically more concerned with finding information than thinking clearly about the duel itself.

Either way, both efforts are far smarter than the dancing entame stalling shit he tried vs security in 56 and far better thought out than the all-out assault he launched in 50-51 or 64.

It's not about upgrades. You have to consider the summoning method. ORD was Odd-Eyes overlayed with DRXD. If ther'e a Odd Eyes Starve Venom fusion it's gonna be the fusion of the two. For Odd Eyes and Clear wing you would have to synchro the two of them. None of them are tuners and their levels go beyond the limit. You could make it work like Ultimaya but it misses the point.
