I think Lead Bullet is too useful to not keep around on a set, even if you have the ability to score points normally. Being able to ignore Shields is still a huge surprise, especially since it makes your opponents wary of relying solely on their Shields to avoid gunfire. Osamu losing a point here doesn't really matter in the long run. Rank Wars are almost over and Tamakoma-2 has enough points to play with the big boy squads again. All that matters at this point is being able to fight the top 3 squads. And since they're probably going to be stuck at rank 4 they're gonna get to choose the map again. Upsets can happen.

Katori and Kakizaki are so far behind at this point that unless they both win 8 point shutouts (unlikely) they probably can't climb higher than rank 4 or 5 by season's end. Them getting 1 point this match is basically a condolence prize.

I believe the term here is 'learning experience'. Chika's trion makes her so ridiculously over powered that I think people tend to forget that she's even more of a rookie than Osamu, with most of her effort focused on learning to be a good sniper. Watching out for a combination of hound shots and direct fire like that is something she wouldn't be looking out for without having seen it, or been hit by it a few times.

So she gets taken out this time, and probably guards against it next time.

Well compare the amount and/or speed Izumi and Ninomiya can make a composite bullet like Gimlet (which is just 2 Asteroids, probably the lowest of the 4 shooting triggers in consumption). Hatohara has a Trion of 8 and she can't even use lead bullet sniping and Chika has been shooting them for a while. And look at the size of that lead bullet cube and the speed she created it (Teruya was on her last sprint to Chika--she was only able to snipe once).

Yeah, no. Lead Bullet is really hard to use and for an All-Rounder in the thick of things practically a death sentence. The only reason Miwa can roll with one is because he has a custom Lead Bullet that lets him use it on the same Trigger as his guns. For B-rank agents who don't get customization, they have to activate it as Sub Trigger and use it in conjunction with their Main Trigger, which means going into firefights without a shield using slow/close range bullets.

Alternatively, cut the bullets with Scorpion, then disengage the Scorpion. Scorpion reforms new each time, so the lead would just fall to the ground. Yuma being Yuma, he's probably going to turn Scopion into a set of full-body armour. It'll be piss-weak and break at the first real attack, but it'll stop any lead from touching anything that can't be replaced.

Sorry to reply so late but it's pretty clear to me that Osamu is a counter character. His success is 100% dependent on his ability to analyze his opponent and predict their reactions to things.

He's the type who gets harder and harder to fight as time goes on, but he's not instantly adaptable. His worst situation would be to be pressed by an unknown ability - he's not fast to adapt to it. This is why he took down Wakamura and wrecked so many people with Spider - he was baiting their reactions and clearly anticipating their moves. Him being shooter is ideal, in part, because he's got slow reaction speeds compared to the rest of the cast - but incredible timing if he's aware of the situation already.

The second that he winds up surprised, he gets taken down.

The good news is that he's the type to really improve with practice and experience. The bad news is that he's always going to have a tough time with aces, who so far seem to have incredible reaction speeds and huge adaptability.

Yuma probably ought pick up a shooting trigger just on general principle. His black trigger has bolt and anchor to give him ranged attacks and incapacitation. So he really should pick up at least an asteroid for some mid-ranged work in his Border trigger. Kageura's scorpion whip is nice for longer ranged stuff, but it's not the same as being able to fire off some bullets at someone.

Hell, Yuma really ought to work towards being an all-rounder. He's basically an all-rounder while using his black trigger, so doing the same with Border's trigger will be the most helpful in the long run.
