For thousands of generations, human armies always equipped their rookie fighters with fucking spears or at least pointy sticks. The spear is so simple and effective to use, that there are entire cultures and mythologies built around it, simply because it was always the best weapon period.

With a spear, shitty little goblins wouldnt have swarmed and gangraped them, because they could simply form a circle and held them at a distance.

With a spear, shiteating big goblin wouldnt have been a problem, because spears are what humans since time immemorial used to hunt big game. And I mean really fucking big game, like Mammoths.

With a spear, there wouldnt have been some little akward faggot swinging his shitty sword around and basically rekting himself because swords need skill to wield and their effectivity is only limited, not to mention their laughable reach and deterrence value against rushing enemies.
