Why is oda using such strong plot device. First the sister saves luffy for no good reason now they refuse to fight the strawhats! That's just plain stupid. I know they all clear as day heard why luffy and co has came, yet they use sanji wedding as a reason to let them go and act like they didn't see them. Why wouldn't they just eliminate a threat now? As much as I'd love to see him in the alleged final war as a Luffy ally (no matter how minor the part he'd play), I don't think Oda would him become the subject of a filler arc and then a filer special without verifying that he was an irrelevant character.

If you think about it, thought, it's not all that saddening. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he didn't even rank within the top 100 on the latest two popularity polls (he def wasn't in the latest one). There's a lot of GL characters that may or may not make another appearance in the New World, add that on top of all the new characters Oda needs to introduce in the New World in order to keep the story interesting and Oda has a lot on his plate. It's no wonder arcs are taking longer these days.
