I don't think there's enough of a point. If you skip the filler episodes, DM is pretty good as an adaptation until they go into the pharaoh's memories. Reiji is trying to locate Yuya and keep him from continuing to trigger the cycle. He's also retained his memories, probably from being in close proximity to omni-bracelet-kun when the loop restarted the last time.

It's not all that surprising in the end. In the series the relationship between Yuuya and Yuzu is very important, gets a lot of focus and is handled pretty well. I think the main reason fujos tend to ignore het pairings is that they are often irrelevant. If the main character spends more time lusting after their male rival and completely ignores the supposed love interest then fujos will do the same. But this time around it's very clear who Yuuya's key person is.
