Release date for Vol. 10 is May 30th so stop asking.
I see your sadist and raise you a sadist.
Yeah but Ainz's new outfit is totally bitchin
Huh? It's not like they're all from his perspective as it is. Aside from Vol 1-3 it's a constant flux of perspectives.
If Vol. 11 is anything like Vol. 4 we will probably have a lot of pages dedicated to a perspective from a Dwarf.
Volume 4 is from the lizards perspective.
Volume 5 is from Climb perspective.
Volume 7 is from the workers perspective.
Half of volume 8 is from Carne Village perspective.
Half of Volume 9 is from Jircniv perspective.
More Jircniv means that by extension we get more of Ainz shitting on him, though. So it's all good to me.
Wonder what his reaction is going to be when he hears that almost all 250k of the Kingdom's soldiers were killed
Well, he is the MC, so it's normal that he appears in all volumes, even if just a little. Volume 5 is the one with least Ainz, but most readers consider it to be the most boring volume due to Climb.
I want a bug as a pet.
Mm. Yeah. Sebas and Solution saved Volume 5, basically.
Because Ainz is a walking Deus ex machina, whenever there is problem inside or outside of Nazarick, the answer is go to Ainz, this applies to both NPC´s or NWorlders, he basically somehow manages to solve every problem for everyone, and gives the impression that its somehow is part of his plan, I want to see what will happen if he somehow wasnt there for everyone and they had to solve the problem by themselves.
Fighting guys his same level maybe, these guys wouldn't have the power to cancel out magic at Ainz's level and even if they did he is strong enough to take out teams of adventurers just by smacking them.
That's not really what a deus ex machina is. We've known how ridiculously strong Ainz is since Vol. 1. None of what he has shown us in regards to power levels or his gambits has been outside of the bounds of what we were aware of in the initial exposition.
>and gives the impression that its somehow is part of his plan
No, he gives his comrades that impression (begrudgingly) He himself admits that most of the time he is just making up stuff as he goes along. It's just a part of Ainz's character to be crazy prepared when it comes to battle situations. Most of the world conquering scheming is being done by Demiurge, although he attributes it to Ainz because he has a huge boner for him. Ainz is just kind of going along with it because he doesn't want to disappoint his comrades. Which isn't to say that Ainz is stupid, it's mostly that he's just insecure and is lacking in confidence. Though as the story has moved along this has become less and less an issue since he's slowly becoming the mask.
>I want to see what will happen if he somehow wasnt there for everyone and they had to solve the problem by themselves.
Well it isn't like they would all fall apart without him. Most of the NPCs do the managing by themselves. Ainz even says that his initial workload was extremely small in comparison to the NPCs.
Demiurge would probably figure out some scheme that would save Ainz (which would then be a just-as-planned-moment or something) and since all of the other NPCs are power houses in their own right (with Shalltear, Rubedo, and possibly Lastborn being the strongest) it might not even be that interesting of a conflict.
If you want to have screentime for the other characters I think there are probably more plausible ways to go about it. We don't even have a properly strong opposition to Nazarick set-up yet. Outside of possibly ZZ and PDL.
Some people don't like lizards, but they end up worshiping him and he can have his servants gain experience by training them. What's not to like?
Actually I'd say it's pretty probable for there be a volume dedicated to a vacation with how they've set it up in both the LN and the Drama CDs.
Probably another SOL Volume like the latter half of V8 was.
bikini fanservice pls
>tfw Vols 10, 11, AND 12 are going to be Climb-free
Second best maid and best maid.
Maybe he´ll ask the land below the Katze Plains as a tribute for helping the Dragonic Kingdom(the one with coastline), everyone in the NW, "the sorcerer king plans to create a navy to expand misery to other continents, just how evil can he be?" Ainz: Mmm I should invite the NPC´s to a day in the beach, I dont think they have ever seen the ocean. And thats the story of how bikinis where introduced in the NW.
How are spoilers even real hahah nigga just close your eyes
Yeah, they are supposed to be pretty rare. Keep in mind that in one of the Drama CDs the guild master was trying to get 'Momon' to impregnate one or more of the prostitues he was arranging for him, if only so they could get a child which may receive even a little bit of his talent.
That would be good for a drama cd.
Overlord's world is based on the real world, that coastline would be the Persian Gulf.
Also there was a lich with a pirate ship in wn right? ainz will just mass produce that ship I guess.
What would happen if Ainz continues to get stronger in the NW just like in DnD?, Would that make all the NPCs unnecesary? Albedo: let me protect you from this attack Ainz-sama!, Ainz: dont worry I can summon this Level 240 Hullathoin its def and res are off the charts. Shalltear: let me kill those vermin for you Ainz-sama. Ainz: oh. I already sent a level 400 Zombie Tarrasque. *Albedo and Shalltear depressed. Ainz: I wonder why they are like that *summons Atropal* hey Albedo! Shalltear!.
If he can still get levels it will probably take fucking forever to happen.
At most exp will probably be used at a correlation between souls and exp. Judging by the web novel, anyway.
I imagine he'd be twice as cautious compared to earlier in the ln since he knows other players who have been there much longer have probably been leveling up the entire time. He'd also still need the npc's to help carry out Nazarick operations since they would still be smarter than him. Also, he'd still have to be very wary of WCI's since their power seems to supersede everything else.
>since they would still be smarter than him
In terms of just raw smarts only Albedo, Demiurge, and Solution are particularly notable though. From what we've seen so far anyway.
Ainz is getting better, however. I don't think he's nearly as lacking as he thinks he is.
You forgot Pandora's Actor. I don't think that Solution should be there. She is competent and all and she was right to report to Ainz about Sebas's behavior, but she didn't show anything notable about being smart.
He is definitely above Jircniv levels who is noted to be at least above average. The problem with Jircniv is that he's extremely arrogant and fancies himself a genius. Which Demiurge says makes him easier to predict than a moron.
Aren't they probably dead?
Yes, but he didn't know that then.
However, there seems to be some sort of hereditary component to levels since the "godkin" are a thing. Maybe high level people produce high level offspring.
The main evidence for this is because the ST keeps meticulous records of lineages and strongly encourages its godkin to breed.
Yup, doubly so in his case since he's frequently overwhelmed at the overbearing loyalty of the NPCs. If it weren't for his emotion suppression, he probably would have gone crazy by now.
Battle strategy is definitely where his biggest talents are--he has even betrayed the expectations of Demiurge in that regard. He's good at other stuff too though. Most of what holds him back I think is his lack of confidence.
Yeah, you're probably right. I suppose I got carried away because she's a stark contrast to some of her more stupid sisters.
I honestly keep forgetting about Pandora's existence since the LN hasn't made THAT much use of him. He is supposed to be a top-tier character in terms of intelligence though. On Albedo and Demiurge levels. Which is probably even more proof of Ainz being more smart than he lets on, as Pandora's Actor is in part of a projection of himself whilst he was in his chunni phase.
What cock? Also Ainz isn't really that edgy. He doesn't masturbate over killing people or doing evil things like someone like Clementine does.
2nd seat is a true *teleports behind you* edgelord motherfucker. Look at this smug cunt
Solu is basically a consummate professional. No other sister would have kept Sebas from going full Kenshiro in the fucking Kingdom and blowing their cover.
It's in the WN. Basically, unlike in the LN, Ainz basically agrees to become a duke or some other lord under Jircniv and ends up being a society hit for his powerful magic.
It's Fluder who stands beside him on the Curbstomp of Katze instead of Mare, for instance. He also encounters Clem's brother, Quintia, who is the BS 5th seat.
It's completely impossible now; Nazarick owns the Empire in all but name and Ainz's only reason for settling for a lordship in the Baharuth Empire was because he didn't want to conquer the entire world.
However, he's beginning to play on the international level, so there is no possible way it could happen. He even has E-Rantel and has declared himself as a king already.
Snakes are fun though. They eat rats, but they're cool and smooth.
Plus, fairly low maintenance.
This is ENTIRELY dependent on setting. The average power level of a D&D setting is higher than NW, Ainz is probably around lvl ~30 is 3.5 so even he would lose against a bunch of stuff.
If it does indeed end up being a plot point it probably won't be in the same way as in the WN. The LNs unlike the WN are under a lot of editing scrutiny, and for the better. I like the author but every good author needs a good editor, and this one has done a lot of improvements for the series.
If a similar scenario happens in the LN, it will probably be Jircniv trying to scheme some of Ainz's secrets out of him, saying, "Hey, you should do a masterclass at our academy a few times, we are buddies after all, right?"
Then again such a thing probably won't occur now. Especially after Katze.
It isn't totally out of the question. The Empire is a nation known for it's magic after all. I can see him trying to egg on Ainz (while he can) like that. Then again you could not do that scene at all and have Ainz play teacher with Fluder instead.
average new worlder is about level 1 in D&D with the stronger smarter people being around level 3 and people like Clem being level 8. Combat Maids are at least level 15 but below 21. Ainz is probably 30 maybe a little higher.
The thing is, the last time Jircniv asked Ainz to "cast the strongest spell you know", Ainz killed almost the entire Royal Army and terrified 3/4 of the Imperial Army to the point where they ended up trampling each other in their rush to escape.
And it wasn't even his strongest spell.
When will Evileye win the Ainzbowl?
Would Albedo commit suicide if Ainz choose someone else to be his queen and then announces he won't have any concubine?
Maybe Ainz will let her be one of Shalltear's pets
Apparently you have to specifically train to acquire them. Climb is one of the strongest warriors in the Kingdom's armsmen, but he doesn't know any martial arts beyond the chopping technique Gagaran taught him and Limit Breaker.
This might be because he isn't talented; most people with combat talents tend to become adventurers so they're disproportionately represented among them.
Rapier-lance screams flaming faggot. He's got an emo expression, but I'm not buying edgelord yet.
No way. She's probably one of the nicest ones next to Yuri. Unlike Solution and Narb she doesn't outright have a dislike towards humans. She just really likes to eat them, that's all. Plus she only needs to steal a voice box because she's insecure about her original voice.
Let's not forget that Solution likes to do pic-related to people. And that Lupu likes to watch people suffer "just cause xd"
You mean the Momonbowl? She's in love with the Momon persona, not Ainz. She probably hates Ainz even since from her point of view he forced Momon to become his deputy essentially.
There probably isn't a happy end for her unless she opens up to Ainz whilst he's in his Momon persona and he decides to spare her.
>one of the few good and entertaining NW characters needs to die because ugly bug wasn't able to do her job properly
I don't like this.
Ah I didn't know. I hope we get some more Time Stop shenanigans then.
>thinks he's the only one who can do it
>acts smug about it to his companions/Ainz
>watches Ainz use it to blow out his allies
>Imagine Lupus on her hands and knees, a nervous look on her face as she sees the giant dick about to impale her. Despite the fear that it's too big for her, her wolf instincts to be bred keep her frozen in place as her vagina secretes copious amounts of lubrication so she can accept the cock. Her eyes will go wide and her glistening lips will flare outwards to engulf the head of the penis pushing into her. A soft cry will escape her lips as it sinks further into her depths, her body demanding she accept all of it. Once its fully inside her, stretching her, she'll feel the powerful thrusting in and out, sending shockwaves of pleasure through her. When she feels the knot start to swell there will be a moment of panic when she tries to escape. At that time you must grab her hips and hold your dick as deep as possible inside her, leaning forward to nip at her neck with your teeth to force her instincts and obedience until your knot has swollen to full size. At that point you will be locked inside her and it will ensure she can do nothing but accept your seed. The tight seal from her being stretched and filled will make sure that not a single drop escapes from her super heated vagina, and you will see her reach down and rub her lower belly with one hand as she's amazed at the pleasure she's experiencing by having her womb filled with thick hot semen, her vagina going into spasms of pleasure as it milks you dry.
TOB was based off 2E D&D which had even more insane spells than 3E (although 3E removed most of the drawbacks to mages in 2E)
PA played Momon's role in v7 while Narb was Nabe.
They also had squeaky doppelsex.
Well that's what I was getting at. The "Time Lord" casts Time Stop, but Ainz/co are immune to it, allowing them to wreck the guy's teammates while he watches and pisses himself.
Who knows if the BS guys are going to be used as anticlimactic fodder like the Fingers guys though.
You know, if you're immune to Time Stop in a world full of high powered wizards, what the hell happens to the people not immune to Time Stop? Lets say BS guy is in a heated battle and using Time Stop's one after another. Does Ainz and co. have to sit in exasperation until their minions can finally move again?
I don't think they care whether their minions can move. They're just flavor and cannon fodder.
v7 already showed this, whatever happens in Time Stop stays in Time Stop and the only thing the non-immunes see are the consequences.
Time Stop is usually not actual time stopping, but greatly accelerating you so you can do several rounds of stuff in a split second.
I'm still of the thought that Ainz's Overlord class actually grants him good decision making on a subconscious level. So while he himself thinks he's just going with the flow or not really knowing what he's doing, subconsciously he's doing everything as planned.
>papa bones has been bullshitting his way through the world blindly while hiding his inner suffering over his guild mates
Truly, being Momonga is suffering.
I hope she wins. I just read Vol. 6 last week and holy fuck I was just grinning like a god damn moron the whole entire time she was fangirling over Momon.
Still need to finish up Vol. 7, though. They just got to the tomb.
>'Time Turbulence' which may imply that he has an item or an ability which lets him manipulate time.
The issue is, what can he do during his manipulation of time. Cause stopping time and thrusting his rapier in between the eyes of Solution or Yuri ain't gonna do shit.
Heck, doing so on Lupu or Narberal might do shit due to pure Phy Def.
>Imagine being gently absorbed by Solution, feeling like you're in a pool of jelly, when she molds a perfect pussy that moves by itself like a tidal wave. Kissing her while those those slimy fingers caress your asshole and your balls. When you cum she'll go "thanks for the tasty meal /a/non~~" and make herself your jelly bed. You'll feel like you're finally at peace, when she covers you like a blanket and rests her head in your chest.
Daily reminder that Enri will be the hero to defeat Ainz
>what can he do during his manipulation of time
Get one-line'd by Ainz, of course:
>heh, nothin' personnel, skeletor
*teleports behind you*
>"Time stop countermeasures are very important, don’t you know?"
Truly the most suited to be Ainz's queen. Can other girls even compete?
She already gave Momonga a talking watch that she VAed and intentionally warned him not to set it to certain times which would be voiced in lewd ways.
I wonder if Bukubuku was a Rie Kugimiya tsundere.
Most japanese seem to crave the idea to fuck their sisters that and the low birth rate, may have caused the japanese government to lift the ban on incest after WW3. YFW the reason Teapot played Ygg was to hook up with Satoru, after years of unsucessful flirting she couldnt bear with her xmas cake status and went for her brother.
Caved and bought the first book, it showed up yesterday and I'm really enjoying it, more so than the anime. And that's saying something, I fucking loved the anime.
>Elder Lich x Slime will never happen
The yen press one? How is the translation?
I need it.
But I will never be able to enjoy it if I write it myself.
Personally I find it funnier if his ability wasnt time stop but time acceleration, and all he can do is watch Ainz as he slaughters his companions in slow-mo, and well only see his pov narration of the scene, too much narrator for my taste in the latest volumes.
I think the author confirmed it somewhere.
Agrand council = turkey
Holy Kingdom (the wall) = egypt (the suez canal)
Theocracy = saudi arabia
Empire, nazarick, carne village = iraq
RE-Estize Kingdom = syria
Katse plains = kuwait
Dragonic kingdom = iran
Hope the author continues to fill it out, if a player landed in america or china and has been building his army for hundreds of years ainz is gonna have a real problem.
Well maybe theres something like a cold war in the shadows between players who went to the NW long in the past, but theyre so powerfull, control so many WI, or their armies are so big, that any direct confrontation would destroy the world or all sentient life, so they just fight through proxies or are waiting till they get a decisive edge over their rivals.
>each side has wcis of mass destruction
>Eagle druid had a lot of time to expand and wants to liberate and subjugate the rest of the world
>Bear druid 1 is melancholy but is largely concerned with protecting its borders
>Bear druid 2 is ambitious and cruel, but lacks the resources of bear druid 1
>eagle druid balances the two sides to keep them from uniting against him
>The arrival of Nazarick upsets the balance of power

Maybe there was one among the people in E-Rantel when Ainz made his gay parade, I can imagine he can transform himself into a copy of Ainz, but will get caught since he doesnt know of the aura thing that the NPC´s can do.
What's the deal with ainz going full shiroe in his garb?
Its not a cape though, is just a skirt
Probably some coliseum thing since it looks like he's participating in a fight from the cover.
Or maybe it's just equips specifically for the fight for resistance purposes or something
I was under the impression that if you're lv 100 you can just walk around naked, beating "heroes" with your dick. Once they're beaten and battered you shove it up their asses
Imagine Nazarick eventually becomes a pantheon with Ainz as the maing god and Momon as a legendary hero the equivalent of Achilles or Hercules, le time skip 8000 years into the future some, suddenly modern world, hack eventually creates a series where you fight by bringing back old heroes of the past, le fagot protagonist summons the Saber class hero: YFW Momon. What happens?
It could be flavor text from the Overlord racial class since it seems like an undead commander type lore-wise while the class/race actual focus is in instagib (Overlord of Death etc.).
Indigo just shipped my order early for some reason
The translation is good. Glad they didn't butcher any of the characters names.
Well from the way the LN described in in terms of language in the NW that is exactly what happend. Better said a theory that at one point a world item was used that changed the rules of the world and ultimatley translates automatically every language.
The biggest question, was a world item used for the spell system too? Or did it came with the yggdrasil rules in terms of magic and items. Otherwise that world item had not worked in the first place.
Well i assume Ainz will have some kind of interest in magic academy. More so for the magic spells that didnt exist in Yggdrasil and are invented by NW. He is not ignorant, remembering how Sebas tried to get his hands on several scrolls and stuff while at the kingdoms capital.
I never bought a LN by yen press. Do they include all the color pages?
Even low level characters like the Pleiades and Hamsuke have countermeasures against time spells, so this guy is fucked no matter what.
>Even low level characters like the Pleiades and Hamsuke have countermeasures against time spells, so this guy is fucked no matter what.
Pleiades probably from their gear but hamsuke i doubt it, only if ainz gave him a item that would grant time-stop immunity. Who knows mabe his new armor will have some.
Yeah. There's one at the end / beginning of chapters. Plus it comes with a really tiny fold out poster and the characters stat pages.
Not sure what you mean by that, could you explain? I rarely read LNs
official translation of NGNL was like something slapdashed by a weeaboo tumblirite with ADHD, making shitty pop songs sound angelic by comparison.
if Overlord's official translation even approaches decency, then it would attempt to preserve the author's playful writing and the trope usages, localizing it with faithfulness (or attempt of it)
Is there a character who can defeat Warboss Enri?
I'm still getting around to reading the light novel and I'm not sure what's the deal with those two, but if entoma needs revenge and it's more of a principle thing couldn't he just let entoma kill her and then resurrect evileye? I know he said he could resurrect in the anime, but it would draw unnecessary attention
>I'm still getting around to reading the light novel
Nigga what are you doin' reading spoilers then.
Well, it's more of a complex situation than that. You'll see once you get to Volume 6.
Because I'm not one of those people who think spoilers will somehow spoil my enjoyment of a series. A well crafted scene is good no matter what. A poorly crafted one will always be shit, whether you know it's coming or not
Oh well, 5 volumes to go I guess
She is protected and blessed by the semen of 5000 goblins. Not even Rubedo can touch her.
>the eleven heroes having been players?
It is 13 heroes, Well 13 that are humans in which 2 were Players, 1 they call Leader.
Sidenote: The lack of Overlord pics as Anons reply is sad.
Aside from the web novel explicitly stating a few of them were plays (iirc), they contained and gave away items which were specifically known to only exist within Ygg/Earth.
The gods introduced the Rubick's Cube to the Theocracy, for example. Greed Kings had a guild weapon and are the reasons that katanas exist in the NW. And both of the above are responsible for the spreading of ranked magic (from Ygg) throughout the world. The Minotaur Sage, another person thought to be a player, introduced modern house hold items to the world, and it is certain that he was not an inventor as he could not himself explain as to why these items were an improvement.
The 11 heroes were not all players, only two of them were.
We all know that Enri will always be the dominant one.
Wew. I guess it's a good time to re-read
The 6 Gods are pretty much confirmed to be players (WCIs et al).
The 8GKs are very likely to be players as well due to their overwhelming power and the fact that their floating guild base matches up quite closely to what Ainz said to Sebas about a floating castle in the sky.
This might be the world stronghold AOG was talking about in BD6 Prologue Part 2, one of those which has an NPC level cap of 3000 (coincidentally, the floating city has 30 protectors...)
It is more inferred than explicitly stated in the LN. All those items I mentioned come up in the LN, it's just up to you to put the pieces together and figure out that they were players.
>Those characters might not even exist anymore.
Yes, they don't. While it's not a sure thing that the 6 Gods aren't around anymore, the 8GK killed each other, and ditto for the 2 players who were apart of the 13 heroes.
If you consider the WN stuff to be true until explicitly contradicted, then Surshana of the 6 Gods outlived all the others and was the killed by the 8 GKs, who then killed each other after genociding non humans.
Which volume is that, pray tell? She makes an appearance in v6 where she gets her ass kicked. She appears in v7 where she gets to snack on Arche. She shows up in v2 for one line.
The WN content is still being used as a basis for the LN, if maruyama find more time he will update the WN again.
What do we have left from the WN that can be used?
>that lich with the ship in katse plains
>ainz refecting on the six gods
>shallteal vs agrande council
It's volume 6, when she became the first Nazarick denizen fighting a tight battle with NWers and learnt about their prowess. She also developed a rivalry with Keeno and showed us a lot of information about her like her view on humans and her complex about her appearance.
>She also developed a rivalry with Keeno
Wait just a minute here Anon.. You sure we on the same LN?
That's not 1 volume. That's not even 1 chapter. It's barely 1 part, and her involvement there is literally "get beaten up until Demi has to step in".
And everything you mentioned isn't development; she's just being used as a plot device that gets beaten up.
i'm not him and i'm not extremely fond of Entoma, but she has got character development.
in Volume 4 she's lampshaded as being a monster by Cocytus because Kyouhukou is scared shitless by her (we later find out that this because she snacks on Kyouhukou's cockroaches). later throughout the other volumes she's shown to be pretty cheerful and childlike in spite of her appearance. and she's also pretty insecure about her appearance, which is far removed from our initial impression of her. she is also one of the only meidos aside from Yuri and CZ who is shown to be a relatively good natured person (Yuri comments on this as well). she has the same karma value as Mare and Aura (in terms of Karma, it goes; Yuri > CZ > Entoma > Lupus > Narb = Solution).
you don't have to like her but she's been fairly developed considering she hasn't had much text dedicated to her. CZ and Lastborn on the other hand barely have anything since they've had barely any screentime (in Lastborn's case she's had none at all). ironically Narb, despite all of her accumulated screentime, strikes me as being the least interesting of all of the meidos.
Entoma was actually still standing after they unloaded everything they had on her and burning all their consumables and fighting under very unfavorable circumstances (she kept using probing attacks and didn't commit because she though they were higher level than they were).
And then, insecticide.
Interested in starting reading the LNs after liking what there is of the manga translated, how many volumes are there past the Shalltear fight?
Also I gues the weird...er....cadence? Of the writing is just something to get used to with LNs?
>bait that anon
Anon, he baited you into replying first. He got you hooked up.
He's definitely not becoming warrior-captain. He doesn't want to become an adventurer either. It's not likely that he'll go with Climb. His goal is now to beat Shalltear and Ainz with his sword skills, so he'll probably have a training arc and commune with some giant condor and learn to harness his chi or something.
Thats nice Brain is an interesting character in his own right, Id like if he gets a lot stronger at least by NW standards, minxmaxed level 40ish just enough to make Entoma job again.
He's dancing to Renner/Demiurge's tune so whatever he's doing it probably isn't going to be good for the Kingdom.
Don't really care for Brain that much, to be honest. His whole character just feels like "muh strength" and "muh training"
Shalltear fight happens in Vol. 3 and we're at Vol. 9 and the anime left out quite a bit of extra detail in the first three volumes.
To put it in perspective it will probably be another year or two until the manga finishes up the Vol. 9 material.
For the most updated translations iirc.
>some gaint condor
He need to lose an arm first, understand that he actually love Grazf, and come to terms with the lost of his love, to master the ultimate move.
Brain as he is now is pretty good; he basically refined Gazef's Slash of Light Technique and combined it with his God Slash and Field and he actually managed to scratch Shalltear.
But he already loves Gazef. And Shalltear. I mean, read how he describes Chair in v6 ("he understood her more than any other man") and Gazef in v9 (that's basically him crying over a dead lover).
Basically Brain falls in love with anyone who beats him.
Impregnation is my fetish, so I'd like to hear what happened to Imina and Hekkeran.
The mouth is actually designed after a Lamprey which is adept at blood sucking.
Yes, yes Anon, we understand. So are the innocent 250k villagers.
You need help with TGOALID explaination?
Brain already took his first step of becoming a hero by figuring out the power of nakama and demonstrated it in his battle with Shalltear. Next time when he obtains the power of love and becomes a true hero, he may even challenge the evil Sorcerer King.
You know Anon, there is a web comic on Brain. With him killing Shalltear, the last time I saw it, he is engaging Aniz.
Won't happen. If anything Renner will probably love the guy considering she's basically a Nazarick NPC in everything but name. She'd probably love to hang out in Demiurge's farms. I can see her and Albedo getting chummy and talking about their husbandos.
In any case, Ainz is really good at bullshitting people. Jircniv thinks that Ainz has been ruling for hundreds of years simply by how adept his movements are when ordering people around or when speaking. Plus he has his aura, which quite literally affects everyone. Even his subordinates.
>implying the workers needed to be coerced into taking the job
They were given extremely shit details and knew upfront that there was a lot of risk. They still decided to take it because of greed. Nobody forced them into doing something they normally wouldn't. Most of the workers were in fact happy to be doing that adventurer kind of job.
Well he could use Time Stop when he meets with Renner to appear to be more quick witted.
Renner: so you know XXX
*Ainz activates TS, immediatly panics
Ainz: I didnt knew that!, quick think of something!
Ainz: Elementary, my dear Renner the main problem is XXX.
*Albedo grinding her teeth (did he just say my dear!?).
True, but as long as they have Climb on a leash she'll be 'loyal'. Which is quite easy. Any of the NPCs can flick the dude and he'll die.
I really want to see her get mind broken by Demiurge.
Ainz is fairly good at speed chess at least. He was able to figure out 3 parts of Demiurge's plans during Volume 6 and that was in a fairly chaotic situation with which he had absolutely no previous context towards.
No, they were there so that they could be interpreted as an attack by the Empire, which is why Aura and Mare immediately attacked afterwards and demanded an apology.
Ainz was against the plan from the get-go, but couldn't think of an alternative to Demiurge's plan. He hated the fact that he was letting other people invade Nazarick, which he cherishes above everything else. He only made their deaths as harsh as it was when he personally confirmed that they were only in it for greed, which disgusted him. The first thing Arche should have done once she realized how screwed they were was to prostrate herself and render unto Ainz. And probably explain her deeper circumstances. She would've had a chance of getting out of that alive, but no, instead she pukes all over herself like a retard and starts calling him a monster whilst the other workers try to put up a pointless fight.
"Hey, we apologized after killing hundreds of people and taking their stuff, why aren't you forgiving us?"
I thought Ainz's plan was to use them as combat practice at first. Then they lied to him, which is what made him decide not to give them quick deaths.
It would probably be Crawling Chaos or something.
Well, he approached all of the workers as "Momon" and decided to inquire as to why they were invading this tomb, which they knew was dangerous, in the first place. Everyone basically went, "for money xd". I'm sure if they had given other, more ethically agreeable reasons right there he would have at least tried to convince them to not risk their lives. I interpreted this as him initially not being totally for sending a bunch of people to a slaughterhouse, but after he confirmed that their aspirations were just greed he gave in completely.
But yeah, you're right about the rest. Hekkeran is a retard for trying to lie.
He chipped the nail (natural weapon) of a lv 100 while he's only lv 30.
Both brain and gazef will die and be used as motivation to make Climb stronger.
Whoever thought gazef his super martial arts will also be important.
Ah, I was specifically referring to his treatment of Foresight since they're obviously meant to be sympathetic and shit. You can see that he doesn't care about Heavy Masher getting drowned in cockroaches, Green Leaf getting curbstomped by the Nazarick Old Guarders, or Eruya getting pwnt by Hamsuke.
I wonder if Hamsuke kept the elf girls as his cheerleaders or fur-combers or something?
Right here, Ubbo Sathla:
It's an outer god.
But less chaothic and with a strange love for children. Hell probably bang them just to have children that he can pamper around, who could guess Japanese Otaku could love children so much?.
I mentioned a long time back that it's likely that they might be sent to live on the 6th floor with nature, but I also thought that maybe Hamsuke might like having subjects. He'd certainly treat them well.
>Ainz is fairly good at speed chess at least. He was able to figure out 3 parts of Demiurge's plans during Volume 6 and that was in a fairly chaotic situation with which he had absolutely no previous context towards.
Anon, please. Ainz was just bluffing. He didn't even understand one of the parts of Demi's plan.
>Of course, he did not even know what the first three were, but Demiurge's words still made him uneasy all over.
I do think Ainz is quite smart and capable. He's just overshadowed by Albedo and Demiurge.
when ainz had asked them what their motivations were, and they said something other than the lame money reason, he probably would have had a reason to relent and make some bullshit excuse
Well his new gear look much more battlemage-y with those boots for some reason.
Then again with his immense strength and just melee staff he could probably turn every monster in the current Imperial Colosseum into meat paste.
Ainz really just needs an advisor that he can privately talk to and learn from. He is smart but he's a 20 something guy leading what is essentially a gigantic corporation of demons which out-age him quite a bit.
I wonder if Fluder will take this role considering he used to be an advisor to Jircniv.
>>I wonder if Fluder will take this role considering he used to be an advisor to Jircniv.
I can see that working. Ainz teaches him magic and Fluder teaches Ainz some stuff about ruling.
In my opinion though Ainz is kind of a natural leader anyway. And he knows what not to do as a boss because he has the context from being a wageslave and knowing what bad bosses are all about.
The best part about his bullshitting is that it actually pays off. If Ainz had simply subjugated the Empire he might have actually given the other countries a good reason to unite against him. Now, he makes the Empire an accomplice in his plans and forces Jircniv to help him in whatever crap he wants to pull on the national level.
Fluder's a good teacher, even if he does ramble on and on, maybe he'll get along with the Library Overlords.
Jircniv was planning to make his own alliance but after Vol. 9 I really don't see how that's going to work out.
"H-hey, remember me guys? It's me! Jircniv! You know, the guy who dragged 250k of your peasants to the field and had my magic-friend kill them all? W-wanna be friends? We'll take down the evil Sorceror King together! Don't you believe me?"
He fucked himself so hard. He probably couldn't even comprehend that Ainz would be able to do so much damage to the Kingdom.
He's basically like the inverse of what Ainz is. Jircniv is smart too, but he's completely self-absorbed and arrogant to a fault. Ainz is modest and overly cautious. It is pretty obvious which one of these mindsets leads to more mistakes.
To be fair, Ainz is an outside context problem. His idea of powerful magic is "whatever Fluder can do" and Fluder's research was focused on esoteric shit.
He's not the kind of person who can effortlessly change the weather, summon army-slaying monstrosities and reshape the world to his liking. People like that are called gods. One thing everyone thinks in v9 is that their imaginations weren't enough.
And I meant to say, Jircniv's idea of powerful magic...
He's used to an industrialized, nation-based form of power, he's never encountered it focused into one person before. Though really, Fluder should have been a good hint for that.
I still think that he should have at least been slightly aware since Mare and Aura were sent with a fucking dragon and those are supposed to be powerhouses. Plus Fluder was shitting his pants over some of the stuff that Ainz was capable of in Vol. 9
I see where you're going though. His imagination wasn't nearly enough. In-fact, that's probably why the Theocracy was very careful as to not step on any toes this time. Since they know first hand just how powerful magic casters can get.
Jircniv is the sort of person who hires strong people to work for him, he probably assumed Ainz was that way too.
Little did he know...
Also, this really puts Narb's comment in v2 into perspective: “Ainz-sama is only pretending to be a warrior, just like playing a game. If he used his real strength in magic, Armageddon would just be a small matter.”
For those unsure if they want to get YP's version, the reading preview is out.
No clue, I'm currently just reading their digital preview.
You'll need to ask someone who actually bought the printed release. Digital isn't available yet.
I just want him to be my personal headpat dispenser
What would Overlord be like if Ainz was playing a vampire loli character like Shalltear instead of a Skeleton?
The player remains the same, the character does not.
I think it would make for a lot more interesting interactions between the characters of the series.
It seems Ainz got influenced by the passives of his race so with a vampire race it would change a lot of thing ( plus the gender swap).
For exemple, vampire seems to have emotions.
He will get to the big tournament that is going to be held in the empire, Ainz will turn this tournament-arc into a funny parody out of a trope.
No because that manga hasn't been translated to any good degree
Ainz gets the rare vampire class of course, "Cursed Libido".
Every female in nazarick will have 41 kids and a blood collection farm is opened case ainz is sucking the npcs blood too much while he's impregnating them.
Non nazarick females are turned into vampire cum dumpsters for his minions, the ones who get his attention will be upgraded to mistress status; clementine, ninya, arche.
Evileye now tied with shalltear an albedo for main wife.
250K peasants vampire ainz version: hmm I wonder how big I can get the blood ball to become? "katse plains is now the katse blood river"
Well, the author really don't do much with Narberal but she still has her own character unlike many other NPCs. She is the typical bodyguard who has a crush on her master but feel that she is unworthy of being his wife. She is also a retard who can't learn new things and keeps leaking information. Despite being the Pleiades with most screen time (and overall one of the characters with most screen time), I'd say that Lupu, Solution, Entoma and maybe Yuri have better characterization than her.
I think the manga translations caught up or are only one chapter behind now. The vampire won't show up for a couple hundred chapters though. You'd have to read the WN for her.
Yeah Nabe is the more one-dimensional out of all the Pleiades, Yuri has to deal with her good nature an serving an "evil overlord", Lupus has to deal with her sadistic side and living amongst humans, Entoma has self worth issues and has to deal with all the bullying, Solution has to deal with balancing her loyalty to the SBs with a bad superior who makes many mistakes, CZ who knows.
For being a good person, Yuri sure seemed a little disappointed Ainz didn't want to let up a large quantity of human snacks for Entoma. Or maybe she was just feigning disappointment.
The official translation is great. It's actually written like a professional English-original novel.
No offense to Nigel and Sky, but the quality of prose and sentence composition is simply superior.
Why? Volume 8 is nice. I suppose you could skip it if you really want to.
The main takeaways is that Nfirea succesfully made a potion using Ygg materials and that Enri is made chief. Oh, and Lupu is a disappointment.
It's hard to read for some reason. I fall asleep after several pages.
There's too much exposition for my taste.
Or maybe it's a language problem, since english isn't my native one but on the other hand I didn't have such a problem with other volumes and authors.
Kadokawa bought out yen press, that's the reason for the improved quality, espeially since overlord is one of the most hyped novels currently.
>not liking warboss eni and her boblins
Enri is pretty much the 2nd protagonist of the story now, so those details are not going to waste.
Hopefully we'll never get anything like NGNL again. I checked the ebook sample and it's pretty nice. I'd definitely buy the rest of the volumes too if they maintain the quality.
>Kadokawa bought out yen press, that's the reason for the improved quality, espeially since overlord is one of the most hyped novels currently.
I wonder if the translations would have been has good if YP hadn't been bought out by Kadokawa.
Memes aside, there's no way she'll go against Ainz. She worships the guy. Ditto for Nfirea and the rest of the village. Volume 9 was about them basically defending Ainz's honor.
Enri has been given more than just her life by Ainz and she knows that. At this point she'll have to turn to Nazarick again because there is no fucking way she is going to feed all 5000 of those goblin troops on her own.
If anything, she's going to be a target for the Theocracy's pro-human obsessions, what with her mingling non-humans and humans in a town.
i bet Nfirea and Mare would get along well
Poking at the goblins would make sense if they want to get a reaction out of Ainz. This of course depending if they do it before Ainz announces his utopia and Project Paradise.
I don't think even ST head honchos can be that dense that they see nothing but a crossed swords after the announcement of utopia. They'd have no room in the plan of the Supreme One.
Will be interesting to see how much they will resist eventually, either making the first move themselves or Ainz lands on them if he ever gets the intel on who brainwashed Shalltear.
I would want to be a fly on the wall if ST envoys hear that the vampire was defeated and Momon was "forced" to serve the evil Sorcerer King and they go for a meeting. And the envoy opens up introductions by saying they're from X Sect of Slane Theocracy and then congratulate Momon on subjugating a vampire THEY couldn't even scratch.
Not at all Enfirea is shy and scared naturally, Mare is only pretending inside he´s a cold stone bastard, I wonder how Mare would react if someone where to harm Aura in someway, lets say MC?
Mmm. I forgot Brita was in the village though. There can be a possible fuck-up there if she sees Shalltear with Ainz. I wonder if Shalltear even remembers Brita. It's kind of hinted that her memory of that event is a little less than whole given that she didn't remember Brain (although that might just be Shalltear being haughty).
iirc Brita only recalls Shalltear's True Vampire form and her memory is missing from when Shalltear went back to 'normal'
Is there a character who can compete with Mare for the Ainzbowl?
I want to
rapeMare i would defied that cute little anus and rubbing that little penis until it cum nonstopall of that while Mare's crying and beg me to stop while calling out Ainz name
That'd be like diluting their proud race, too prideful for that. Even the ancestor of lolimilf queen probably was just horny bastard that couldn't keep his dick inside his pants.
Maybe, but what would be the point?
Wild magic sucks shit now. You'd have to sacrifice millions of lives to get something around Ainz tier magic.
It sucks even more for descendants who can't utilize it as well as natural full blooded dragonlords.
>Lupus has to deal with her sadistic side and living amongst humans.
Exact same shit with Narberal. Except Narberal has it even worse, since Lupu doesn't even have to be in contact with humans to do her job. Nabe has to deal with being the other half of a very famous and popular adamantium adventurer team, she is constantly scrutinized in the public eyes, yet she still manages to fool every human.
What the fuck are you thinking that she is the most one dimensional character? Do you hate her that much?
Actually she is the most developed character out of all the maids.
>yet she still manages to fool every human.
that's not really true, people around her notice how cold she is towards other people, she has a reputation for being unduly harsh. it's played for laughs more often than not but it has almost bitten her in the ass a few times. she beat up that noble who approached her trying to deliver a message to Ainz.
she's fairly irresponsible about her hatred towards humans as well. she neglects to memorize names and other important people simply because she doesn't want to lower herself to humans or something. even Lupu calls her out on this and says she is retarded.
take it with a grain of salt, as most of these are not confirmed and it is mostly inferred.
yeah, some other stuff should be lowered and raised as well.
i've heard as low as 70 and as high as 90, but we don't really know for sure.
multiple dragon lords were needed to kill one greed king, and i'm not sure if we know whether or not the kings were capped.
Nobody knows, I'd cautiously just put him at 60-75 range. BS 20-35 from seatings and ZZ at 40-50.
Wouldn't make sense if ZZ/BS combined would need to sneak around the Dragon Lords not being up2date with their eugenics shit otherwise.
Simply because she got much more exposure and than the other maids. But "developed character" was a poor choice of words.
The thing is that despite her fuckups she still hasn't broken her cover, she still hasn't failed at her job yet.
>she's fairly irresponsible about (...) she says she is retarded
That is true and despite being negative character traits, they are still character traits that serve to develop her character.
Also I don't think she is retarded. A bit dense, yes. But calling her retarded is just too much.
yeah i don't think that Narb is an undeveloped character either, it's just that i personally don't like her developments.
her kind of character archetype isn't really my thing though, so i'm highly biased.
