A few post game missions were not translated. Other than that the story is 100% complete. No idea about the emulator since I just played it on the psp but you should definitely give it a go.

I'd give all my wallets for a VC game that had more active combat than the first three, but more varied terrain, where you can run along trenches and riverbeds, hide in foliage, or climb to high places to outmaneuver the enemy as you fight them. On the other hand, the interception fire should be actually brutal and you'd die from a couple of hits if you don't take advatange of the environment. That would actually highlight the kind of tactic combat Welkin and Kurt are supposed to do.

You have the enemies on both sides respawning infinitely regardless of how many times you kill them. Within every turn that the enemy gains, they always have two snipers who spawn in good enough positions to take out two of your units no matter what, thanks to the flatness and size of the field. Every single turn that you get, you need to dedicate command points to

>2 points to taking out the two snipers
>2 points to take out the scouts that will capture your point within two moves
>another point or two to take out whatever shocktroopers managed to move up far enough
>one point towards repairing your tank
And at the end you hardly have any points to put towards attacking the tanks. This wouldn't be a problem if it were a case of holding out against the constant attack to eventually weeken it and opening a window of opportunity tiowards your goal. The respawning is constant.

It's a terrible cheesing level unlike anything else in the game.

Gentleness makes sense for a character with her background sure, but the game didn't really have a character to put that gentleness on. During the tutorial parts she had a bit of personality, where she's doing service even though she's not the kind of person suited for it, and though she tries to be strong it takes a toll on her hard and she isn't doing that well keeping her shit together. I spent some time playing the game and it is just so frustrating. I might put some mods on it to round out to retardation that ruins the fun concept.

The scout rushing is stupid and I don't use it because I don't care about ranks and would rather feel like I completed the level, but I also can't have fun playing the game as I want (going though each mission in one run and not starting over if I lose people or fuck up) because the levels have so much bullshit like shocktroopers spawning on top of your soldiers or tanks one-shotting your sniper on top of a nest from across the map when there's no possible way the enemy could have spotted him via line of sight.

Scouts are incredibly useful even if you're not cheesing the game with them, because they're a great balance between mobility and accuracy. If you upgrade along the accurate rifle path, you can outrange any shock trooper, and when you get rifle grenades, you can flush any unit out of cover. Then you just have to leapfrog your scouts in pairs. Save your stormtroopers for when you expect to take reaction fire, and for the love of god, learn to use Orders, because they are the most broken thing in the game by far.

I liked VC2 and its cast unironically. To this day I can probably still name the entire class off the top of my head. I played it at an impressionable age, so I shipped like mad.
