It's a good anime that stands on its own, despite the nonsensical plot TWEESTS of the era. At least you can excuse its faults due to apparent way of story telling back then. However, some modern anime have ZERO excuse for the bullshit they still pull.

Ushio to Tora needs a little bit more exposure here so the threads can thrive on their own. It doesn't get enough threads compared to the seasonal fan wank fanservice or low quality LN no-thought quickie.

Rarely, but I remember one of the Spear candiates (the tomboy) ends up topless a few times. The first time you barely make out a nipple, but the second time (when that water maid creature starts choking her by forcing itself into her body), she has a boob just hanging out while it all plays out and her nipple is clearly visible.

I remember that second one took me out of it for a bit since they didn't do the "you saw me naked" then punch routine. They act like reasonable human beings and keep doing their jobs.
