I first heard of JoJo in an article in the American Shounen Jump when I was around 12, which mistakenly said that the Stone Mask was an ancient Aztecian artifact that gave people Stands. Never mentioned vampires or Ripple.

I didn't really know about Jotaro, nor Araki's increasingly-flamboyant artystyle, but the article gave a summary of every part and mentions that Jolyne is the Part 6 JoJo and that it takes place in a women's prison.

So I thought that pic related was Jolyne on a motorcycle with her butch dyke girlfriend that she met in prison.

Wham was a MUCH better character, and is one of the only saving graces of actual good writing in part 2. The thing is that even the shittier fights in part 6 all had some great stuff in them though. Dragon's Dream had the fucking terrifying climax of Annasui turning the old guy's legs into fucking springs, and Yo-Yo-Ma had the showdown between Pucci and F.F.
And the good parts of part 6 more than make up for the bad, the 2nd half of part 6 especially was fucking amazing.

What annoys me about part 6 is that it didn't really feel like a crew. Because of the prison part they don't really interact with each other a lot, especially Weather Report who only fights against Jumping Jack Flash and Pucci. Jolyne did a lot of the heavy lifting, the rest were tag alongs, besides F.F. who died too soon for my taste and Anasui.

Also there were some stand fights that felt somewhat tedious, like Dragon's Dream or Yo-Yo Ma. It did have good fights too and I liked Pucci as a villain (besides the final fight). For me definitely not the worst part, but certainly not the best part either plus Jolyne is not worst Jojo.

Personality-wise Kars wasn't that bad, but Wham was a much better character and he actually did things. As a villain Wham accomplished more than Kars, Kars of which just got fucked over by a volcano and Joseph's godly luck.
Diavolo on the other hand, whilst not being the most compelling character, did have Doppio to make up for it, and is arguably the most terrifying villain. Seriously, every time Diavolo showed up you KNEW something big was going to go down.

Part 1 was just Jonathan and part 2 was just Joseph, so they didn't have a crew. The rest is insignificant or dies just to give the Jojo some powerup or further motivation. Part 6 has enough people to feel like a crew, they just barely interact with each other because in the first half they are all in prison and in different cells and in the second part they split up. I give you these but to be absolutely honest they were better than half of part 3 stands and if these arcs laster for, say, 2 chapters less each they'd be pretty damn great, both stands work perfectly as comic relief, they simply were the focus for a bit too long

Most other fights were great. I only found Manhattan Transfer and Highway to Hell to be absolutely horrible and Green Baby admittedly kinda sucked to, but Jail House Lock (underrated as fuck), all of Dio's sons and even Jumping Jack Flash (the villain himself was lame but I love space suits) made up for it.

Part VI does have a lot of problems with pacing and character development for everyone but Jolyne and FF (and maybe Narcisso) but it's not horrible by any means, and stands introduced are easily among the most creative ideas in the whole series.
