Yeah true. But Giorno does it in a very deliberate way. The ohters do it because they're forced to with the exception of Johnny, but Giorno sits there while the others torture a man and allows it. Any of the others would have stepped in and said "hey, isn't this a bit fucked up?". The main diffence, I think, between Giorno and the other Jojos is that he always kills his opponants. He doesn't show them mercy, even when they're no longer a threat, like with Baby Face, he still kills them.

The only shit fights were these prior to the villains serving Valentine, that's not much - and even part of that wasn't horrible, considering how much we learned about Johnny and Gyro over that time.

Most of the other minor fights were pretty great, especially Civil War, Catch the Rainbow, Diego vs. Valentine, Magenta Magenta and Wekapipo and even HP vs. Mike O. I do think Ringo's a bit overrated though

I don't think the spin was terrible, it was a good throwback to hamon but at least it actually was REALLY executed well, and it was interesting because of all the golden rectangle bullshit. It's still great to me how Gyro managed to make it through all the stand fights without a punchghost, just with a steelball and his trade skill.
You also have fights like True Man's World, which was fucking amazing.
Speaking of though, why does no one talk about Civil War? I thought AXL Ro was a Ringo-tier villain, he had a cool design and his stand ability was fucking creative and linked really well with his backstory. You also got to see one of Johnny's most badass moments of development in it too.

Same for Civil War, it felt like it was tacked into the part to dump Hot Pant's backstory as exposition and was boring as shit otherwise. ESPECIALLY since HP's backstory was in no way necessary at any point later on, all it did was explain the reasoning behind her motive to claim the corpse - which already had been justified to have by the fact she's a nun.

We as the readers know that the story is drawing to a close now, so when a stand user shows up and fucks with gyro we just want it to be over with so that we can continue reading the climax. We are aware of how araki handles stand battles so we expect maybe 5-6 chapters.

The stand users often dump exposition before they get defeated, it's one of araki's ways to get you to empathise or give them deeper motivations.

Araki is well aware of all these cliches he have. chocolate D.I.S.C.O is a joke on the reader before the final fight begins. D.I.S.C.O only says his stands name, clarifies that he haven't anything else to say and then immedialty gets jobber by a gyro that is tired of this shit.

It's araki's way of saying "ok this stand of the week stuff is over now, the real battle begins now"

I've seen this argument a lot, but it doesn't make sense to me. I'll use the example I used last time.
Imagine you're Gappy in that situation, you've woken up with literally no memories, then all of a sudden you get this ONE flashback of one person who's face you're CERTAIN you know. And then the next moment you encounter that person. Gappy didn't question Sasame at all about the flashback, there's no way that flashback man is a retconned Flashbackman design. And I don't think it's Yagiyama either, if it was Yagiyama Gappy would've commented on the flashback as well.
If flashback man doesn't show up to round off the flashback chapter then I'll give up hope, but with how everything in this new chapter has led up to a perfect spot for his reveal, I'll keep on hoping for this month yo.
I over-analyze a lot of shit, but this part is perfect for those hidden little details that I think will add up in the end.
