Oh, I looked him up. I haven't seen his shit but I've heard good things about Vampire Hunter and Ninja Scroll. Also Cyber City is frequently mentioned in shitty OVA threads. I'll probably go through the ones I've heard of soon.

I just learned that he directed a Lensman movie. Man, I gotta watch that.

And funnily enough, he also worked on The Door Into Summer that apparently had absolutely nothing to do with the Heinlein novel.

Ninja Scroll = Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust > both his sections of The Animatrix > Wicked City > Demon City Shinjuku.

Kawajiri is one of my favourite directors, recently rewatched the Birdy OVAs the other day. I also realy like Takeshi Koike and it was only until recently I learnt he was Kawajiri's understudy, makes sense now that I think about it.

When that couldn't be further from the truth.
It's a legitimately good series. Not great, but very good.
And it really deserves some actual recognition.
The dub is actually pretty good, too, if still a bit trashy.
