No, Kerry's ideals and Shirou's ideals are very different. Kerry believed in the ends justifying the means because he saw, firsthand, the result of not killing his waifu as a kid. He never cared about trying to save everyone after that moment. His attempting to get his wish from the grail was the result of his Machiavellian mindset.
