But Hisoka, once again, has always been there. He was introduced first, the spider seems secondary to him and for him, it is.

I'm may be biased because I started reading the manga way back then when only the Heavens Arena chapters where out, but we only knew Hisoka, and he was clearly the strongest character. Even when confronted with Netero (we had no clue that he was powerful apart from his position) he wasn't scared at all and was more interested in Gon (the main protag, thus potentially the strongest char).

And the we saw this spider thing and he was, right from the beginning, deceiving them. They feel completely secondary to me.
