I get that he's an orphan, but if you've got the chance to get your hair cut properly now, or are at least in possession of some scissors, I don't see why you wouldn't try to fix this mess.

I didn't think it'd be that much better, but it actually does look like a decent haircut without the long strip on the side. The only other thing I'd change is the straight edge on his bangs to more ruffled/messy edges.
