Possibly, but IS is honestly pretty mediocre. Action is meh, plot is meh, Ichika is terrible, fanservice is ok. Some of the girls are good, but otherwise IS is less known for its quality and more known for the fact that it popularized many of the harem cliches used today.

Except Shidou is always fighting. There are different ways to fight and his fight is to capture a Spirit's heart. It could be getting mixed up in DEM's interference, dealing with a Spirit's rampage, or trying to make a Spirit's affection points go up. Except that's not true at all. Kotori is a terrible commader and what she says is just a word play in Japanese and maybe a reference to the famous "all is fair in love and war" phrase, like half of the girls problems(Tohka, Yoshino, Kotori, the twins, even one of Kurumi clones changed her mind and maybe even Natsumi) can be solved with words and the battles are just a plus. It's like saying Raildex is mainly a harem series just because it has harem elements when it's obvious Touma will never go for any of the girls, except maybe in the final volume.

Raildex is a better comparison to use. Raildex is atypical, it has harem and battles, but it's not a battle harem per se. And the reason why that's the case is because it's more purely shounen with harem elements than it is harem with a battle plot. Most girls comes and goes for Touma, only a handful persistent and stick around, and even then it's like they take turns with Touma. The way the author writes it, Touma has a faction that is kept in reserved whenever he needs to pull girls Touma has saved or has crossed paths with, and then he gets mixed up in a plot that has action and here the usual main girls in his harem are either elsewhere or helping Touma indirectly in their own plot. Again, format is atypical to standard battle harem where the MC is surrounded by his harem almost all the time and engages in plot where the MC do battles with his harem behind him or for him.

There's no such thing as a Love Hina anime. Really, the anime doesn't do the manga justice when vast majority of inner monologue and narrative are removed.

Don't know what you expect to hear. It's hard to sum up her whole character with a sentence or two, but I'll just say that over a decade later she's she's one of the most down-to-Earth, sincere, and throughout main heroine and tsundere in a harem work I've come cross. She has engaging interactions with the MC, even her megaton punch is a gags the two of them they joke about how that comes about when they get together, almost like breaking the 4th wall type of shout out. If you've read Negima then you should know how she's like since she's Chisame's predecessor, except only more kuu than tsun.
