The new movie is complete Naruto-tier trash that stole our budget. That said, most cards have inherently valuable traits that are useful in any semblance of a balanced game. In casual-level play you tend to have a smaller card pool to work with, so you usually rely on maximizing the benefit you can get from the cards you have access to.

Tournament play is a fucking joke and almost always relies on the same 3-5 combos in the same 2-4 decks (if it's not a forced one-deck meta). I say this as somebody that played in the almost-9-month Nekroz format and somebody that's been keeping an eye on the meta for the last 2 formats.

There's no harm in playing with casual card pools with tournament logic supporting your deckbuilding choices and strategy. Also you get to have fun.

Yeah, I do that by playing to the meta and not playing tier 1 in casuals. I play tier 2 or lower decks, and pet decks when I want to have fun.
