If he didn't say that then suddenly any idiot with a high kill count or thousands of other gun guys can get in, when gun has a much lower difificulty rating as a weapon than other weapons. In order to be a gun servant, you have to be a true skilled guy without question.

We have about a dozen gun servants at this point, you'd think people would eventually realize that what they thought that interview meant originally was bullshit, rather than "Well it was just retconned" when it wasn't.

A Grand Assassin's would probably need a powerset that's a little more generalized than the average Assassin's. Something that doesn't lose any effectiveness against non-human targets, that isn't reliant on things like human physiology or weaknesses. Being strong against humans isn't what's important here. If that's all that was necessary, then the planet can just sic Primate Murder on it. A Grand Assassin needs to be someone who can kill "anything", not just humans.

Ars Almadel Salomonis is also classified as Anti-Humanity and it's simply a ring of light encircling that earth with enough firepower to wipe humanity out in a single moment. It's not that it's strong against humans specifically, it's just strong enough to kill off every human at the same time.
The Wild Hunt with Drake as its leader manifests as a fleet of ghost ships, the Wild Hunt under Cain as Grand Assassin would likely manifests as a collective of every single murders that has existed in the history of mankind. His NP would basically be "murder" as a concept.

Waver servant has been in the game since the start of the game. Pseudo-servants are things that can't be summoned normally, so they need to find a host to manifest into. Things like divine spirits fall into this category I guess.

Waver has Zhuge's power and knowledge, but Waver is in control of the body usually, since Zhuge is a loner. Zhuge is still in the body somewhere I imagine.

The biggest problems is that an assassin is someone who kills HUMANS. If you kill monsters, you're not an assassin, you're a warrior. A hero. A Grand Assassin would have to be someone who, like all Assassins, specializes in killing humans, but their set of skills just happens to allow them to be very effective at killing things that aren't human as well. And unfortunately for Cain, I don't think hitting people with a large rock would make him very effective at assassinations.

He's the first murderer

His first NP gives him immunity from being seen as a killer, since people did not have a concept of such a thing before he did it. This allows him to sneak up behind and take out one servant without them realizing that death was a possible thing

Doing this however causes his second NP to take effect, Mark of Cain. A permanently active NP that makes him wander around without a master with EX Independent Action, but always must be alone, but he cannot take any damage in this form or else damage is reflected.

But how useful would those skills be against something like, say, ORT for example? I mean, even if Cain could walk up to ORT without any issue, it's not as if killing ORT with a rock would do anything to it. They'd just be stuck at an impasse, which is pretty pointless for an Assassin. He'd basically just be dead weight against anything that isn't a human and easily killable target.

What if there's a meteor on a collision course for Earth and about to wipe out humanity? What's any of that gonna do to it? The other Grand Servants probably have some laser or super destructive power to take out something like that, but you can't exactly murder a giant rock falling from space.

That's why I'm saying Cain would be worthless as a Grand Servant. He's supposed to be protecting humanity from huge, planetary threats, but his specific theoretical skillsets would be worthless against something like that.
