The Cerberus theory as a whole is pretty misguided and I don't think its very popular anymore.

We learned more about what poneglyphs are.
We learned Roger could read poneglyphs.
We learned there was more than one weapon.
We learned Roger learned the ancient history.
It revealed the Rio Poneglyph, which is part of the fucking One Piece and has the entire void century's history written on it.

Even little worldbuilding elements like dials, sky islands and Norland keep popping back up in the story. But no, apparently it didn't add much to the story because Enel was just a guy and not a warlord or vice admiral or something.

Kaido's reveal is hype as fuck because the reader/viewer isn't sure who this random big guy trying to commit suicide is supposed to be. We see luffy do nearly the same thing to the fish man island fodder that shanks did on whitebeard's ship. No it wasn't explicitly stated to be haki, but remember we saw shanks do this right around when luffy arrived with the amazons and were given a crash course on haki. There is a faint possibility shanks has a funky aptitude that precludes him from using haki in the way we think of when we talk about the fighters using it. Not true. Pica states to Zoro that he won't be able to cut him once he's encased in haki. Zoro retorts that it depends on who's haki is stronger. If Zoro has the stronger haki, he will cut him.

I don't understand why people just don't accept the simpler explanation: Oda hadn't yet properly formed his idea of haki yet, which has led to the inconsistency of Shanks losing his arm later in the story.

Even if that is the reason Oda still has to explain it in story why it didnt happen. My headcanon explanation is that Haki is literally ambition. And if you go back to paradise where it lacks all of the danger and stress of the new world you can't utilize it to it's fullest potential as you have given up your potential. It's why Crocodile, Buggy, and Shanks all look pitiful while in paradise when they should have all been aware of haki.

Oda can't just crutch on not having thought of it yet. He has to come up with something.
