I get what you're saying, it definitely suffers from failing to really up the feelings of tension.
That said, I felt like the quality was consistent all across. The ending was a bit dissatisfying though.

It needed a epilogue at the end, there was just too much stuff lingering off at the end that I want some conclusion, like the fate of the bodies separated from their chips, the chips separated from bodies, and other shit.
