Dropped it first episode, yeah.

They have not done a good job of converting the mystery gameplay into anime form. There's no feeling of "A-HA!" when you just have to wait a few seconds for Phoenix to figure it out in the show. There's no urgency either. Hell there's not even a mystery because they show you whodunnit like the game where the fun comes from finding and connecting the dots in-character.

I how they're going to adapt 2-1. On one hand they can strip out the tutorial elements but on the other the case just doesn't work without the plot device used to bring up the tutorial elements. Honestly I found the ending to this case in both the game and the anime to be weak.

I mean the core idea is okay (White's guilt overpowering him when he's confronted with a list of all the people he drove to suicide), but it was never portrayed convincingly. It needed to be drawn out longer, with the names actually being read out while White slowly cracks.

In the anime I thought they were going to go with a different approach, with White actually recognizing Mia in court and getting spooked by it ("you... how... i saw you die..." or something). That might've been a better approach, but they still went with the list thing.

Also yeah, turnabout sisters theme should've played. Still I loved the first "active" scene between Phoenix/Maya at the end. Can't wait for tons of that during the next case.
