I finished Aria season 1 and didn't know what to watch next. Sailor Moon sounds just fine to me.

I went through the first season in about a week.
Sometimes the filler can drag on unfortunately, but most of the characters in the show make up for it.

Not really most of them were boy crazy and it just got too redundant plus Rei was too childish for my taste. I prefer her stoic and blunt personality. Though I am kinda happy that they are including her grumpy attitude this season. I hope there will be more interaction with her and Minako because they are actually the original Rei and Usagi from the anime, and have crazy chemistry.

Also the anime seriously destroyed Minako's character. She was way more interesting in the Manga and had a lot of shining moments.

Minako in the anime and manga are pretty much the same (just she's got her silly side showing way more often in the old anime adaptation). Bad with puns, kind of the more sex-obsessed one (dirty jokes/comments/innuendo/the gag about her not being allowed to tell things to Chibiusa - in the old anime).
Just she had a more man-behind-the-man feel in the manga since she was supposed to be the replacement for Princess Serenity in the time of war or something...? The long blonde hair and all.

I do want more Rei/Minako interactions in the Crystal anime. They did in the live-action series. I wonder if they're gonna show the pledge between Mars and Venus (the one panel that always gets twisted by misandrists on Tumblr for being 'FUCK MEN'). It just meant that they were pledging to go with honor (helping keep everyone safe, especially Serenity/Sailor Moon) before frivolities (love, occupation, etc). They were being mature adults. Their maturity is a rarity in the older anime, thus it'd be a nice idea for the directors/writers/whatever to include that scene into the current Crystal season.

They aren't really the same though, in the Manga Minako was shown to be the leader of the sailor senshi. She also great at creating strategies she may despise studying but she is pretty smart when she has to be. She had more memories of the silver millennium . In the anime Sailor Moon was the leader. Usagi completely overshadowed Minako. And they did it again in crystal. Venus was the one who was suppose to stab Beryl with the holy sword.

There relationship is very endearing. I like How Minako can bring some emotions of Rei, despite it being mostly anger. Also they are leader and second in command.

On the plus, because of her time abroad, she speaks the best English out of all the Senshi, including Ami.
