I got it on the release date. It's pretty great, though low on features. Super stoked about all the love Discotek is throwing at Lupin, in general.

I just got all 14 vols of the Tokyo Pop manga, too. It was worth the cost.

I think Discotek loves Lupin. Even spending more money on it by making Jigen's Gravestone it's first original dub. They didnt have to do that, but it was great of them to.

How much did you pay for all the volumes? I spent around $230 for them plus shipping. What's the condition on yours?

Is Fujiko necessary to watch Gravestone or nah?

It's not, but It's a good watch if you don't mind it being different. Although I'm not sure if Jigen's Gravestone is a prequel to the deries or not because they introduce Lupin and Jigen for the 1st time in the Fujiko seriesand I believe and also in Jigen's Gravestone. Still a little confused.

The second half was. The first half felt lifeless and had only about 5 good episodes. 11-23 was the greatest.

Also not fond of the music that constantly repeated itself. Those are my nitpicks

I'm currently working on picking up the other Discotek releases on dvd, with Green jacket shipping now. They flew under my radar because I'm mostly a BD person. I do have a lot of Funi's older releases on DVD already, including both the First and Final Haul boxes, and the Fujiko Mine BD box.

Favorite blue jacket episodes? I didn't really dig Leonardo episodes, but I really liked the haunted castle, Lupin arrested, old car, and ace inspector episodes.

Episode 21. It was nice to leave Italy for a change and all of the Japanese stuff looked gorgeous. I had a chuckle at Akechi Holmes Kosuke too.

Basically, it was the elusive good Fujiko episode of the series.

What is the worst Lupin episode?

The main antagonist is a mash-up of Akechi Kogoro, Sherlock Holmes, and Kindaichi Kosuke. Although, design-wise, he's almost all Kindaichi.

The kid character "Obayashi" was probably a reference to Kobayashi, Akechi's assistant and leader of the Boy's Detective Club.

Why does everyone in Mamo have big shoulders?

I love how relaxed the music is in the older series. All the music in part 1, just coming in out of nowhere. "Lupins a cool guy! Yeah...he smiles!" I can't find the albums anywhere though.

They need to give Mystery of Mamo a bluray release. When you're watching the dvd version on an hdtv, you can see in some areas where the picture gets slightly blocky. Most noticeable during scenes where something is flashing like when Mamo uses that machine to see Lupin's thoughts. There's a 1080p torrent floating around and that looks amazing.

I don't really notice quality problems when it comes to animation. Maybe it's because I'm so deep into the plot, I just don't notice them.

It does deserve a Blu Ray release. Perhaps that's why I never bought Mamo on dvd despite it being pretty cheap and easy to find. I'm just waiting for that BD release.

It's not an issue with the animation itself. (Digital home video formats wouldn't exist for at least a couple decades when this movie was made so it's not like they could anticipate that ever being an issue) It's with how the movie was encoded for the dvd. I think it has to do with the fact that the dvd had four different versions of the english dub meaning they had to make it small enough to fit on the disc. A bluray release would fix this problem because they'd have more disc space to work with there.
