I think Misaki can be pretty useful (for once she can safely deal with most enemies with mind control), also she already has gone through the realization it took lots of volumes for Mikoto (letting Touma go, do touma-like things and support him in doing so).

The Misaki we get now is the bantz master that teases Mikoto and occasionally shows her sweet side ("girls really are selfish", dolly stuff).
