It was objectively a 10/10 romcom, until the author made Anno quit.

I even felt like the parts after Anno quit were good. The whole series had a really disjointed style, where half of the episodes didn't feel like they fit at all and that they would work as short films, so the change in tone for the final few episodes didn't even really feel out of place.

It was OK. The animation was really shit though

Second anime series I watched. I remember thinking it was really good, but I'm scared to rewatch it because I have a suspicion that that assessment will probably not hold up that well.

Slightly more on topic, I still have Kare Kano dvds sitting on my shelf. They've been there at least 3 years, and I still haven't gotten around to watching them.

When I was in high school I downloaded some episodes through Limewire and watched a few after reading the first 10 volumes of the manga.

To this day I can't recall a single event that happens in Kare Kano.
