it has nothing to do with being a hipster. it has been widely agreed that anime peaked in the 80's and the production has been well documented. anybody intersted in the medium can simply google the anime realsed each year from any decade and get a firm grasp at what anime as a whole has to offer. there are no hidden gems, debatable classics, or underrated masterpieces. asking what are the best looking anime in a attempt to come up with an arbitrary list of which anime is better than the other is retarded.
