Will be airing in a few hours.
Are you ready to drop it again? Or will Maya save the show?
>You do realize they flipped the courtroom scenes in the western version right?
Then why was the non-western movie the same as the game?
No they don't.
These views are from the Judge's perspective
>Trucy is now a defendant in the new game
>Her dad won't even defend her
>A good father would never let his daughter perform magic shows in a fucking bar for money.
He needed the income
waiter, this bait is stale.
>Real Daddy is a dirty coward who knew that he wasn't guilty in the first place
>Replacement Daddy lets her do magic tricks in a sleazy bar
>Doesn't even go back when she gets arrested for murder because he wants to meet his waifu
>Brother is too busy with Ema, Athena, and Klavier
Being Trucy is suffering.
I'm watching it to finally experience the story without the forced and unfunny 'Murrican pop culture references, I'm not planning to drop it in the foreseeable future.
Only one. They trimmed it to only to the second and fourth cases.
Are you ready for me anon? I hope it goes berry well. I'm not clowning around of course because I'm always wright.
These shots look pretty good. Weird, in first episode you could just hit a pause and find quality.
Looks kinda bland
Didn't notice this error in the preview of first episode until now. In the new episode it says the correct age (27).
In previous threads I was theorizing that first episode was creators trying to get a grasp at how to approach Ace Attorney adaptation. Maybe I was right and first episode was just a benchmark of what's coming, now they know how to handle this shit.
I wonder if we'll finally see two of the best girls together.
What a time to be alive!
This case is exactly about protection of her smile.
Personally, I think you as a player was supposed to develop paternal instinct of Maya's well being during case 2. If you didn't, well, there are worse human beings, don't worry that you are not a human. Even Edgeworth developed that instinct.
Someone you are not going to meet in anime
We actually still have no idea how many episodes they have. It's logical to assume it'll be 26 episodes with 13 episodes covering one game, but I remember rumors of straight up filler cases.
>I thought 26 were confirmed? If not, my bad.
I thought the same, then realized I had no source to back me up and found out zero sources to confirm anything besides the fact that we are getting Phoenix Wright and Justice for All.
Also, fuck off, there is nothing gay about Ace Attorney.
It's just your American closet homosexual mind, anon.
Turnabout Goodbyes is going to be so fucking gay
>classroom trial backstory
>Phoenix saying he's the only one who knows the real Edgeworth
>all that homolust
Wew lad, can't wait.
>show ended up not being anything amazing
>plenty of people dropped it already
>threads (at least on airing day) have become slow, peaceful discussions about PW
I'd say this is good enough for me.
What message you get from the game depends on the person.
Average human being should get Ace Attorney's messages about how important people are in our lives, how much can we influence each other (Phoenix imitating Mia, for example) and other values about truth, how we perceive it, how should it be pursued and list goes on.
While fags see fujobait. Children and degenerate shippers might be into Nick x Maya.
I guess the main problem people have with it is the animation quality, maybe they all expected something on the level of a KyoAni movie because of the game's popularity and gave up on the show when they got fencs regt.
>tired as fuck, but decide to stay up to see Maya before going to bed
>subs are late
You will do it to see her smile, right?
I don't recall cherry blossoms and gloomy rain in California.
I'm watching the episode 2 HS sub now and it's still Naruohodo and Chiihiro tho?
I think Ace Attorney games do not really work as a direct anime adaptation. It only works as a game.
In the game, the court proceedings and evidence presentation are dumbed down and game-ified to such an extent that even your average kid could play it.
In an anime where you're not playing a game and are not in control the ultra-simplistic and game-like court proceedings do not work and a bit more connection to realism would be expected.
Jesus, what crap am I watching then? It's almost been an hour since the stipulated release time.
That's not how prisons work.
A-1 sure has a thing with associating Phoenix with the rain.
>Doesn't even go back when she gets arrested for murder because he wants to meet his waifu
Well, she's the one that kept complaining she wanted a new mommy
- even though we all know Edgeworth is the true Trucy-mom.
They're doing the stray dogs anime too, right? I heard the source material for that is shit, but the animation quality looked good for episode 1. That should swap studios with Ace Attorney.
In the first episode, everything seemed QUALITY.
I wouldn't complain if they'd saved their budget and effort for non-tutorial cases, but it would be odd not making the first episode look good.
Should I just go to bed, or is HS actually going to deliver soon?
Not debeste enough!
>The movie made Maya too gloomy
>The anime made Phoenix too gloomy
>No Turnabout Sisters
>No Turnabout Sisters Ballad
>No Search ~ Core 2001
>No Great Revival
>No Happy People
>No Strange People
>No Pursuit ~ Cornered
What the fuck A-1, the practically soundtrack composes itself.
Her theme song is the most memorable one to me for some reason. I still find myself whistling it unconsciously.
So, uh, anyone going to finally mention this Rise From Ashes evidence?
>HS suddenly has the localized names
So did CR have two sub tracks right from the start or did they change this?
Also Maya a cute! A CUTE!
CR always had two sub tracks. HS uploaded the one with Japanese names for the first episode first, then the one with English names as a v2. It looks like they're going to do the opposite from now on.
NOTHING HAPPENED YET
KEEP IT IN YOUR FUCKING PANTS
Maya still a fucking cute and Aoi Yuuki Maya is even cuter holy fuck how can someone so small be so adorable FUCK I'M DYING also Edgey sounds really weird.
And HS please why didn't you put two tracks to satisfy both the shitposters from last week and the shitposters from this week? And CR, you didn't need to go all the way and turn the miso ramen into burgers.
[CR] release has the non-localized subs from CR.
Meh, the drawings look childish as fuck, I thought i was watching a SoL at first (even that fucking opening). This is not what i expected the anime to be, kinda disappointed.
Episode is still downloading.
Did Aoi Yuuki save this adaptation?
If there is such a thing as "meme seiyuu", Yuki Kaji and Aoi Yuuki would be it.
Yeah, it was better than first one. I wish there was more of Phoenix's inner monologue, though, and pace is still pretty fast, although couple of scenes of calm to breath were big improvement. The way they made Maya agree to Nick's defense was actually really well done.
Animation still reeks of quality, but less than first episode, this one at least had couple of decent shots. I hope they'll fix this shit in DVD releases and preview of next episode looks pretty damn good.
I am not entirely seeing relevance or importance of added scenes of Nick's childhood. Are they going to go through every kid that turned their back on Nick when they thought he stole Larry's money?
Edgeworth's seiyuu sounds fucking terrible. It's like he's trying too hard to sound deep, instead he sounds gay.
Why couldn't they use from the game ones, seriously, this guy sounds like current seiyuu and is better at his job.
Overall I liked it. My only complaints are:
- Phoenix didn't have a big enough reaction to Mia dying (although that's the same in the game)
- Mia dying was too quick and not impactful enough. They should've stretched out the scene in the darkened office, had the bit where April May screams across in the hotel (and Phoenix sees her), etc. while playing this music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMxGHvoK9XI
- SOUNDTRACK/ATMOSPHERE. I'm not talking about the lack of game music. I mean the actual shitty soundtrack that ruins the mood. The first scene when Phoenix is talking to Maya in detention - in the game it's extremely somber and plays this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4XP-Hnp4Fk while in this it jumps back and forth between lazy sorta-sad music to "funny" music. The games were great at being serious when they needed to be while the anime seems to be lacking at this.
Still, I liked it. Especially the Phoenix/Maya "defend me / let me defend you" bit.
I have played the first game till the end (along with the bonus chapter), so I decided to watch the anime. I don't know but it didn't impressed me so much despite being faithful to its source material. Dropped.
Dang, this episode was really really good. If it keeps being this faithful through the whole thing, I'll be completely satisfied. The scene where Maya and Phoenix ask each other to be defended by him/defend her was beautiful.
Leave it to America.jpg
>Phoenix didn't have a big enough reaction to Mia dying
They added a scene of him looked fucked up, though, that was a nice touch.
NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE
This. I thought the songs that will be used on trials will be songs that will be used on trials, but these are apparently only songs we get.
Minor nitpick, but why is detention center so white? Did Steve Jobbs make it?
>Edgeworth has King of Prosecutors award
do not taunt me so
The localization will be put the burgers joke on a whole new leve.
I really don't get this meme. How autistic one must be to not adapt to that? I watched first episode with Japanese names, this episode I watched with Japanifornian names, seems like same shit to me.
