How would a Blame! anime work?

Also, Nihei thread
>>
Same as Dorohedoro, same as Prison School, same as any manga with beautiful art. It can work but it will lose a huge part of its appeal unless it's a movie by Madhouse and they have 10 years to draw it frame by frame.
>>
>>139771347
It would be animekino

1. Studio Gonzo
2. Hire architects as your animators
3. Use stills directly copied from the manga
4. occasionally throw in some CGI

I love Nihei but for some reason I'm not very sure I should watch/read Sidonea. Is it good? I don't mind the idea of trap fanservice, in fact I like it, but it just doesn't feel like something that would appear in a Nihei work.

Also,
>CGI
it worked horribly for Berserk and everything else it was used for.

I'm sure you've heard it before, it's kinda like Evangelion, but with a higher mystery aspect concerning the aliens and stuff. But the artwork in space still looks great, and also alien harems ehh.

And I can't blame (haha) them for using CGI, it's drawn a lot less sketchlike than the rest of his works
>>
>>139772466
Ok, I'll be getting ready for something more along the lines of Blame Academy, and I think it should work out just fine.

Ajin ended? Nothing new about the upcoming BLAME! besides this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDA1bUkotIk

?
>>
>>139771347
It won't.
it would be extremely complicated, and the thing with that manga is that the art at first glance looks messy. And the history gets really.

they just need to remove the music and it's perfect.
>>
>>139772099
The harem/romance parts are shit but If you like Nihei and space operas I still recommend it.
>>
>>139772923
Looks good, but I don't like the explosion. I think it should be more impactful with more BLAM to it.
>>
It's not possible really.

Agreed. The only thing that could possibly work as a general soundtrack is atmospheric noises like the machinations of structures too colossal to perceive, or the occasional reverberated shrieks of entities unknown from countless hundreds of miles away beyond the cold, pitch-black horizon. I wouldn't mind some intense techno or industrial music for climatic fights, though.
>>
>>139773727
I like the way you want it to be, but unfortunately it looks like they are going for the generic epic score.

My go-to for Blame! music has to be the pieces featured in the Naissancee soundtrack, particularly everything from Deep Listening.
Nothing beats listening to three people improv in a giant concrete cistern.

Man, generic epic score is so unfitting for this series. When I look at the vast, infinite complexity and size of the megastructure I don't think of fucking Lord of the Rings music. This guy right here's got the right idea >>139774107
This is exactly the kind of stuff I'm talking about, these random ambient noises coming together to create a symphony fitting of an immeasurable metal labyrinth. Another good example would be this one track from Splatoon of all games, that plays right before finishing boss levels.

I didn't even know it was possible for such a perfect woman to exist before reading blame. People toss the words "waifu" "perfect" "best" about all the damn time about girls they like, but Cibo is actually, literally immaculate in every way. With a woman like that a long walk across the galaxy might not actually be so bad.

Is this an accurate depiction of the City?
>>
>>139785519
No, that's some dipshit's school project. The City isn't structured. That's the whole point of the Netsphere disaster and the Builders. If it was structured, Killy could just walk through it in a straight line and just make slight turns to avoid any unnecessary conflict.

It's not really a dyson sphere, just a randomly constructed mess that extends billions of km in every direction, with gravity furnaces preventing it from collapsing into a supermassive black hole
>>
>>139785519
the megastructure is probably more tear shaped, with the point being where the structure extended to absorb the moon
>>
>>139786628
>the point being where the structure extended to absorb the moon
uhh
did you forget how big The City is
>>
I started reading this the other day but sometimes I can't even tell what the fuck I'm looking at or in which direction the camera is pointing at or who's doing what shit's a mess.

do you just get used to it or does it get "clearer" as it progresses?

whenever I *could* tell what was happening it was pretty cool looking though.
>>
If you put 100 quintillion (100,000,000,000,000,000,000) people in the City and spread them out evenly, would any of them be able to find each other?

It has been suggested by Tsutomu Nihei himself in his artbook Blame! and So On that the scale of The City is beyond that of a Dyson sphere, reaching at least Jupiter's planetary orbit (for a radius of around 5.2 AU, or 778,547,200 km);

The volume of the megastructure:
(4/3)(778547200^3)(3.14) = 1.98 * 10^27 km^3

100 quintillion people = 1 * 10^20 people.

Each person would have 19,767,122 km^3 to themselves.
This actually isn't so bad. The distance from the center of your area to the edge would be about 167.73 km.
If two people each walked this distance towards each other, they would meet.
A good estimate of the amount of walking you could do in a day would be 50 kilometers.
You picked a pretty good number, dude.

I imagine that the netsphere would still be a larger digital place.
Before kights of sidonia came to be I allways assumed that the GBE was something of a remote/offswitch for the local effects of the gravity furnace, that it wouldn't work without outside forces but now it seems it's just the OP cannon
>>
>>139771347
Everyone says this manga has great art, but why the hell does Nihei draw the MC's face as if he has down syndrome?

The shitty faces are probably the only reason I haven't started reading this yet.
Does it get better with time or will I just have to look at that retarded face for god knows how many chapters?
>>
>>139793566
Thinking that it has been so many years from now made me see them as freaks from the future. I don't know if that's true but it made it much easier for me to bear the MC's face. Just remember he isn't human.
>>
>>139793566
it's a style and I'm just glad it isn't basic or moe.
that reminds me someone else made a manga with a similar pretense but it's two young girlls in a catepillar-thread vehicle and it's pretty allright

While reading BLAME!
I think that just going for a regular bombastic orchestral soundtrack for a blame adaptation would fail at conveying the kind of tone the manga was going for.
So anything other then what they've chosen would be fine.
>>
>>139794518
I imagine Killy listening to Bull of Heaven since he has the time for that shit whilst walking some stairs or riding a train, kinda like the malthese falcon but slower
>>
None of you are right; it shouldn't have a soundtrack.
>>
>>139795147
That's what we started out with, saying the only thing similar to music it should have is atmospheric noises in the background, but there are moments that would seriously benefit from some music.
>>
>>139771347
I wouldn't unless they get production values to rival golden era OVAs for each episode.
So it won't.
>>
>>139771347
For one it would be immediately more legible than the manga which is chicken scratch as fuck despite amazing designs being hidden beneath it.

I'd imagine it being a lot like Texhnolyze. Obviously it'd have to be atmospheric and focus a lot on showing the different structures in the city. Would be pretty hard to translate how well they were done in the manga to animation though.

Angel's Egg comes to mind. Very similar in tone, narrative, and visual style to Blame, and it was great. If they made it now all the complex structures and gun blasts would be CGI and it would look like garbage.
