The Uchihas would be massacred anyway. Konoha had freaks on their side while only the best warrior on the Uchiha side was a 13 years old Itachi. He alone could kill hundreds of fodder ninjas but couldn't do shit against guys like Jiraiya, Hiruzen and Danzo; at least not at that age.

The only way they can salvage this is if Obito didn't actually kill her there and instead captured her so Itachi will have to kill her later. Otherwise it's Pierrot dropping the ball for the millionth time.
