Airing in a 6 hours. It seems this will be streaming on Netflix.
Which sub group will be saving this series?
PA works original mecha, I doubt anyone will be dying to sub this.
I wanna know too, when could I watch that animu?
>show that would already struggle for popularity
>Netflix licenses it
Fuck. This doesn't even have a built fanbase around the source material like the previous Netflix titles to guarantee fansubs.
Guess I shouldn't have hinted at it before, huh.
Anyway, we won't be subbing it. Just Kagewani S2 for now.
The announcement just said streaming rights, so take that as you will.
NIPPON STEEL FOLDED THOUSAND TIMES
With shows like this it's not how unique you can make the premiere but how well done it is, and this looks rather well done. What really matters is how they'll develop it later.
PA Works usually gets subbed and mecha usually gets subbed so I'm hoping the combination of the two will make it twice as likely instead of cancelling eachother which is actually probably what'll happen because the people who care about PA Works don't care about mecha and vice versa.
I notice people just use it for something they don't like or don't want to like: Phantom World was a trainwreck, Cowboy Bebop was a trainwreck, LOGH was a trainwreck,Kabaneri will be a trainwreck, etc.
First I saw people using trainwreck was when Code Geass R2 airing, now newfags just think it's something with cheap quality.
Trainwreck has always been about the plot than anything.
Oh! Hotspring slut from Hanasaku Iroha finally makes appearance again! I did had faith in you PA Works!
We MGR now.
No idea why people are shitting on this, that was a decent first episode. Is everyone just assuming it's destined to be a trainwreck because it's PA Works?
>the most promising anime of the season
People only see brand names and genre, but this was advertised as PA WORKS X TENSAI OKAMURA long before it was revealed to be mecha for a reason. There's a skilled director at the helm here, the chances are Kuromukuro will be a good show.
Mecha anime requires lot more than good director.
It requires for one actually not sihtty looking mecha and combat choreograchy - both of which in Kuromukoro look like shit. Additionally PA Works is not exactly a studio well known for action anime (aside of Canaan, which was a great failure, also flashy)
It's not impossible for good story to save horrible mecha action, and from what little I saw from the low quality stream it wasn't THAT bad. Then again, I'm usually fine with CG.
I didn't forget to mention anything, I just find it entirely irrelvant. For starters, he didn't write Another, he adapted the Another novel to anime. Not only that but Another was directed by Tsutomu Mizushima and the result is something characteristically his. If you want to shitpost about Another, look no further than Mizushima's original this season, Mayoiga, that is done in the same spirit. The writer here hasn't done an original before, so he might be a wildcard, but Okamura is a director who gets involved with the writing process of his originals, I wouldn't even be surprised if he ended up scripting an episode himself. So, I have no doubt he's guiding the writer well.
I am not telling this will be complete shit, nor have anything against PA Works or mecha.
However there is nothing so far, to actually warrant any type of hype for this show - so just telling as it is: ts not best PA Works production in terms of animation, mecha looks like crap, action boring.
Will wait for subs to see if story and dialogues would partly make up for it - but i dont see at this point it becoming anything than mediocrity.
To be honest, from PA Works one would expect least better visual part seeing its their anniversary show. I though Haruchika looked like crap since they sent all staff and budget to focus on this - but apparently not.
>t's not impossible for good story to save horrible mecha action,
The only one that comes to mind is Gallei Donna and bad mecha was compensated by Umetsu action bits. The other with bad mecha, are also bad story and not worth watching.
I don't remember the cgi being good in Macross Delta.
In parallel Universe? The character animation and most scenes are mediocre and below best PA Works level and CGI looks like something from 2000ths, setting the fact aside that Mecha design itself is crap.
On the scale of 1-10, how wet is she?
Samurai Jack spends good 4 minutes running around naked in front of her.
Will depend on its quality. Its Nomad after all. It would be very entertaining sure, but if they fall to some later MN QUALITY, it can be unwatchable.
The OAV looked good though.
yeah, it will air in 8 days and it's the same staff as Mirai Nikki.
It's getting no hype but it doesn't matter.
original and mecha = /a/ will give a chance.
I'm here to see another PA Works fuck up.
>It's getting no hype
Funi and english have been hyping it a ton. It'll be on toonami in at least 6 months is my guess. And PA works or whoever has been buzzing it for a year.
>Hanasaku Iroha still 10/10
You're my niggah
No one ever said PA doing original mecha was bad, but peoples expected an original "ORIGINAL" mecha anime.
This looks incredibly bland and common. There is nothing interesting about it. It's just a generic mecha anime featuring ken-sama.
The mecha looks cool but it feels like a Linebarrel knockoff to me.
It's just very weird to see this in a season where Macross and Thunderbolt are airing.
The girls aren't even cute, for a PA Work anime that's just bullshit.
No, the situation is same as with Charlotte before.
Sudden influxe of non-PA Works fags that jumped the train because "original meha mah favorite director!" and keep telling people how it`ll be great despite all evidence.
Last time it were Maeda drones, not sure who tries to hype it now - Mecha fags know better.
>Dull main girl
Oh boy, mc is joining the school in the next episodes and your usual harem antics will take place while he fight the random enemy of the week, I can see it from miles away, it will be enjoyable and I hope they keep adding girls to his harem.
Yeah, no. It already required once to make SEED DESTINY to save anime from Tomino shit, the only thing he can achieve if he continues working is make sure Fukuda will have to save anime again (Greko damage was thankfully negated by Cross Ange)
Greko was shit in first place, because Tomino treid to make Turn A Gundam again - except he forgot he wasnt a person who made Turn A good, it was Ookuchi.
On the other hand, competition should mean more western money flowing into the industry, which I see as a good, or at least necessary thing. I don't feel the current paradigm of largely relying on obscenely expensive BDs is healthy or sustainable.
I'm just glad I don't stream. What's that now, four services required to legally watch everything? And even then you can't watch Macross.
Not even going to bother picking it up.
Netflix saved Cyborg 009 vs Devilman from subless purgatory, nothing else matters now, they are alright in my book. What a solid ova, I didn't think I would watch it for at least a year. But fragmented streaming won't be a bad thing as long as anime keeps getting more popular which is the current trend.
Fragmentation is not a problem, it's that there are multiple competing services and yet at least three of them have bad translations (at times decent, but holy shit just look Haikyuu's subs!) and garbage video quality. No one's trying to trump their competitors, it's all same shit.
Well that. Even worse you have to pay to watch that shit.
gg saved us for Macross.
Witch fansub group will revive to bring us subs for this show?
Seriously the announcement is too suddenly, like 12 hours before first episode on air, at least we know Macross won't have official sub since beginning, and Amazon got Kabaneri at few weeks ago.
Maybe most fansub group don't even know Netflix get this yet.
Why would anyone waste their time subbing this show when Netflix is doing it?
>And even then you can't watch Macross.
That's because of the legal/licensing holdovers due to harmony gold still owning robotech.
If you check the /m/ thread people have ripped the subs which you can sync up with the raws. Or you could wait for a proper release
Shit it may be, bunny is best and I can't wait to see her animated.
Especially if they get to the bit in the cave.
I'll give him a SUPAH CAH instead
It's mainly ripoffs and/or sequels of established shit same as most seasons lately. Joker Game is kind of the only thing that stands out as of now as not so well treaded. Well trampled might be a better way of putting it. Anime has kind of gotten like the Japanese game industry where the main difference between most shows are which ones look shinier than the others.
Well I mean the current anime fanbase are masters of being fake as shit in their reactions so they can probably do better than that. It's just people being lazy on their fake over the top extremely polarized reactions
I really don't think there is a most promising anime of the season. I know people need to crown their AOTS for whatever it's worth post haste but if there's a clear one worthy of distinction like most seasons I'm sure as hell not seeing it. A lot of passable even entertaining fluff, but nothing exceptionally promising.
You're never really going to get this again outside of Sunrise, Bones, I.G or maybe Orange if you're going to do the CGI thing. Most studios not inside the Bandai Visual families mecha looks like ass. Even the new Macross is looking highly suspect already and that is Bandai bucks backed. That's also supposed to be one of Satelights stronger suits is their CGI. Anyway this show picked a bad season to come out in though I don't know where else they could have put it really. Either it's going up against Macross or it's going up against Gundam. Either way it's doomed to second fiddle status with the mecha crowd. I just feel kind of bad for P.A Works at this point, they're trying to expand and have had so many bombs of late and this is supposed to be their 10th anniversary work. I really wish they'd just go back and do another Shirobako or something which was like they're only critically acclaimed hit in years.
Galilei Donna was a fucking joke. After that and Aldnoah A-1 should never go near mecha again period. Just stick to teen melodrama romance series with Okada scripts which is about the only thing they're good at pretty much.
GuP had magical bullshit Bandai backing. See recently Ellen Baker-chan for just random ass social phenomenons. For whatever reason this producer has an uncanny ability to fall ass backwards into monster hit status without making it look like they're really trying all that hard.
Madoka seems like kind of a one off lucky thing that is a result of a strong combination of just the right believers groups at just the right time when they were all coming off of red hot hits. The whole cute girls bait and switch into grimdark story arc thing doesn't seem to have worked much since and it's not like they haven't tried a few times already.
Always expected no way to beat the adaption shows(at least not in episode 1), but still pretty funny it's more than Kabaneri.
Literally Miuna and Chisaki combined and she's the main character. Already AOTS
Well this was actually pretty good.
what the fuck?
It's the fist time I've seen that technique being used so badly.
>If we just add a few extra arms it'll look like she's panicking.
I liked the first episode but the show has some quality issues.
no, this shit it's already out in spanish but the resolution is really bad and they are not that great translating. I do not recommend to watch it there
I'm streaming 12-Sai in that shit, nobody will talk about in /a/, but it's fine I'll keep watching because I'm interested in that show.
For shit like this, where the only good part of it is to shitpost with /a/, there's no reason to put you through the eye cancer. Bravo P.A.
>It's just very weird to see this in a season where Macross and Thunderbolt are airing.
As someone who don't like mecha I'm still curious about this one. Like, I liked Cross Ange, this one looks like it's on the same level of fun.
It is. After it's done airing in Japan no one is going to care about this anymore.
But the main reason to get a Netflix subscription isn't anime so they don't really give a shit about it.
They probably just want some anime in their library for show.
They probably gave the license to whoever payed the most. I don't think this is gonna sell much merch internationally anyway.
I don't think it's a coincidence Netflix went after another mecha show after they licensed Knight of Sidonia. That got them some attention.
Well most self-insert stuff is chunni.
But how is this show self-insert? I still don't even know if the MC is gonna be the girl or the naked guy. And neither of them are quality self insert material.
I don't know what the pirating/streaming ratio is right now, but certainly most people wouldn't pay to watch yet another mecha show, and P.A. is barely recognizable for most casual anime fans.
Selling the series to the highest bidder does make sense.
Chuuni means teenagers who imagine their fantasies to be real. Self-insert faggotry isn't chuuni, Chuunibyo and similar shows are chuuni and /a/ never used this term to describe anything else till 2 years ago or something, basically the same time when "normie", "cuck" and all the other normal fag buzzwords emerged and newfags who claim to be oldfags started using them.
Dummy, you realize the post you originally replied to is saying this isn't self insert right? I'd like to think reading comprehension is still a posting requirement for 4chan, but maybe thats too optimistic.
>Chuuni means teenagers who imagine their fantasies to be real
> to be real
Close but nope. They don't literally imagine them to be real.
It's just people expressing their fantasies in real life.
Self insert shows supposedly makes it easier for the chunni to indulge in the fantasy and imagine they are the MC and have superpowers.
There is nothing inaccurate with calling self insert shows chuuni. As it's the main demographic.
They did it with Kabaneri but this show is Netflix. Not that this means anything but they somehow haven't ripped it yet and it isn't in HS's list so far.
Maybe they just don't know it yet.
Despite all the shit CR gets. it's still the best thing to happen for anime piracy.
>original japanese term
>They're full of shit.
Screen recording isn't like cam recording anon.
The actual image and audio is fine but It's not something HS has done before so their first release was shitty (30fps, 4:4:4, ect..)
but they released a v2 and typed up the subs and pasted them on a TV raw.
Fuck this, why is Amazon starting with anime now as well? No anime fag uses Amazon prime and I doubt there will be more who actually pay for this only to get maybe 3 to 4 shows at best each season. I don't use or particulary like CR but at least it makes sense there since they're actually streaming tons of series each season.
Kuromukuro's animation is really great, I don't know what the shitposting earlier was about
It actually IS some of PA Works' finest
We're due for a good P.A. Works show. Hopefully this delivers.
What's the retarded excuse for using mecha over other machines this time?
Go fuck yourself, if you really need a rationalization to not start shitposting and bring the quality of the board even lower, go right ahead and fuck with the board, just don't start bitching about how people are shitposting you favourite show when it happens because it will
I don't care if you think it's a shit anime or not, because I'd like to have my own opinion on it already, but I can't because nobody has bothered to get off their arse and actually sub it despite there being ample time for it to have been subbed already. I'd love to be able to fluently understand Japanese so I can enjoy the raw version, but I don't. And if I knew Japanese I would have already moved to Japan by now so that I wouldn't have to put up with this nonsense.
Yeah, it's going to be released RAW on Netflix in FOUR DAYS. In the time it will take for them to even release an English version on Netflix, I could probably learn Japanese fluently and move to Japan.
To be honest, I blame the American education system. The best time to start to learn a second language is when you are really, really young. Around 5-7 years old. But they don't teach second languages until you are halfway through middle school in America. They don't even offer Japanese as a second language course in most schools.
>They don't even offer Japanese as a second language course in most schools.
1. They don't have the teachers for it
2. The demand isn't high
3, The value of it, even in a vacuum but especially compared to say spanish, is virtually zero
Or like learning a second language when English is your primary language. Because almost everywhere you go, someone will know English. Ito s the most known language in the world, but only because it is often taught as a second language.
>English is a complete shit tier language that makes expressing complex thoughts nearly impossible
What does that eve nmean. Expressing complex thoughts in a simple language should be easier than vice versa
>3, The value of it, even in a vacuum but especially compared to say spanish, is virtually zero
This is so true it hurts. I know /a/ (and most of 4chan for that matter) is always like ">spic" and "fuck off spic" but if you live in America knowing Spanish is a massive asset, to the point where it's a required course to graduate middle/high school. I'm Hispanic myself, but spent my late childhood and puberty in the US, so I have both accents, able to speak Spanish/English fluently.
Funny story, it's fucking EASY learning Japanese if you speak fluent Spanish. Like it's a fucking joke, the two languages are really similar. Spanish speakers never use "shi, sha, shu, sho" in their vocabulary, yet they're able to pronounce those no problem when doing baby talk to a toddler. Japanese don't have double R in their vocabulary (Hiragana never heard of double consonants), yet they can pronounce "arroz, carro, perro" better than Mexicans.
Due to lack of writing skill. It takes writing skill of equal the level if not higher to translate something beyond the literal sense. Your anecdotal evidence doesn't prove your statement either way.
Can someone please just sub this thing already?! It's been raw for almost 24 hours!!! at this point Idc if you use google translate, as long as I can get the general idea of what they're saying I'll be happy.
no I'm not him, but let me explain why he thinks English is difficult.
English is a Germanic language, as is German and the Norse languages. All of these are barely phonetic / not phonetic at all and require heavy stresses everywhere. American English is on a whole different league, it has words introduced from like over 10 different languages.
The Latin languages, the Mediterranean languages, and the Asian languages are all phonetic as fuck. They all suck ass at stressing words. They all try to learn English and then complain it's too hard because their accent is shit. That's why you have all these Indians, spics, and chinks with shitty accents all the time.
English isn't hard, it's only hard if the only language you grew up with is phonetic.
