Memories of Nobody is okay. Nothing amazing, pretty basic and standard story, but if nothing else, it has no real glaring flaws.

DiamondDust Rebellion is shit. Stupid story and centered around Hitsugaya simply because he happened to be at the height of his popularity at the time.

Fade to Black is shit. The story is somehow even worse than DiamondDust and it has the most irritating antagonists.

Hell Verse is pretty much just Wasted Potential: The Movie.

You know, I can forgive the shit story and characters. It's a Shonen Jump movie, pretty much all of those are mediocre to terrible. So I can forgive that the writing an direction are shit.

But for fuck's sake, this is a theatrical film. Even if Studio Pierrot is one of the worst animation studios in Japan, it's still unforgivable for a movie that played in theaters to look this bad.

Okay, I just finished watching (skimming through) the four movies. I already watched them before, but I forgot some things.

Memories of Nobody and Hell Verse are mediocre as hell. Diamond Dust Rebellion and Fade to Black are just shit.

Great music, though.

The first one is decent. The fourth one has excellent animation and based soundtrack by Shiro Sagisu.

The other two are forgettable trash and were made to pander to Hitsugaya fags and Rukia fags respectively (and failed at it).

Memories of Nobody had this little cutie in it, and that was enough for me.
2 and 3 were pretty forgetable
4 was pretty fun, but not as good as it could have been. Playing as Kokuto in Soul Ressurecion was pretty great, though

4th is a nice generic action flick, but they dumped Kubo's ideas into the toilet.

Memories of Nobody wasn't just a good shonenshit movie, it was just a good movie. I'd recommend it. If your a fan you may as well watch the rest but there's a severe quality dip.

The concept of the Valley of Screams was drawn up by Kubo himself. The fact that the Valley of Screams exists in the manga in the first place does prove that Blanks do exist. Since there's little explanation of what the Valley of Screams is in the manga, Kubo probably expects the reader to have already seen Memories of Nobody and derive their understanding from that.

That being said, Memories of Nobody literally cannot happen in the manga's established timeline. It's clearly supposed to take place in-between the Soul Society arc and the Vizard arc, but the fact that Rukia's present makes that impossible. Ichigo never sees Rukia in-between those two arcs. The first time he sees her after the botched execution was at the start of the Vizard arc, when she, Ikkaku, Yumichika, Hitsugaya and Matsumoto infiltrate Ichigo's school.

Most likely, we're supposed to assume that an event similar to that of Memories of Nobody took place at some point, just not exactly like how that movie showed it. Given the strict timeline of the arcs, the only time an event like Memories of Nobody could have occurred is in-between the Soul Society and Vizard arcs, so most likely, Rukia just wasn't around in the manga's version of that event.

The difference between Memories of Nobody and the other things is that the manga actually references it. Kubo has never referenced any other movie or filler arc before, except for maybe the Muramasa filler arc with Shunsui's Zanpakuto spirits, but that's primarily because he's the one who designed every single Zanpakuto spirit in the first place.

But I think what happened is that Kubo liked the film so much that he made it canon and overlooked the slight continuity error. I mean there are worse errors. If we wanted to be strict, Rukia should have killed Fishbone D with her Shikai and Yamamoto shouldn't have been the first commander.

She may be a human/whatever hybrid, since her mother was described as a faithless whore and her supposed biological father tried to kill her.
