I prefer Claudia.
Do you like battle harems? Then yes.
Compared to Bahamut from last season, the girls aren't as good, but at least it has a story that makes sense and is somewhat coherent.
>the girls aren't as good, but at least it has a story that makes sense and is somewhat coherent.
But they aren't. Julis takes up too much time. Phi beats out the 13 year old in terms of breast size and fulfills the sleepy moe role as well. If Claudia got more time, and if they focuses on girls like the announcers, then it'd be a closer contest.
Both are agreeable.
It's above average for a battle harem. The setting is exceptional as well. Also the lead heroine is awesome.
>Implying Phi is better than Kirin
Kirin isn't my most favorite, but that's just wrong. Asterisk's girls are generally better aside from a few from Bahamut who are about the same. If we account side characters too, then Asterisk would easily win.
Still lost to Stella and Mio in BD sales.
Actually, yes it is which is surprising considering how shit battle harems can be, should give it a try
Do you have a reason to hate such a cute and passionate girl?
Quickly, post chineses
I actually liked Julis a lot more in S2E1 than in S1E1-12. She has a lot more of a professional and collected air and there was not a squeak of haremshit the whole episode. I'm impressed.
It won't last, I guess? Because I would have really wanted just twelve episodes of S2E1 without any Saya or Kirin stuff OR with "compartmentalized" Saya|Kirin shenanigans akin to that one S1 episode.
>One girl takes up too much time
>it's a bad thing
You probably don't like Rakudai either, don't you?
Do you like DEFINITIVE character interactions at all? They are so rare in the genre as to be treasured.
It will last. Julis is consistent, however she also develops a bit too. Her core drive won't change since that's part of the thing that makes her who she is. We do see a weaker side to her, especially in volume 6, but it's nothing like reverting to a moeblob or dropping spaghetti that gets rid of that collected air.
Wow. I guess I might actually like the show then. Now if only Ayato got a cool male friend that helped him with girls, or something. Or got a small testosterone boost, I dunno.
You know what else she is?
Julis and Fan vie for that placement in my ranking. Either way, she's great.
>can literally cut anything except another ogre lux.
>the power is amplified by the prana of the user and since ayato has 3 seals worth of op, ser vesta becames more op as well
suprisingly ayato still isn't top of the verse compared to the other monsters later in the ln
Holy shit that voice is awful.
>Fire princess who can't stand spicy food
>Likes hamburgers like a commoner
>not liking chivalry of a failed knight when its actually this show but good
>it has a story
a story that the show constantly ignores that has no relevance to anything that happened. Get fucked
It's pretty shitty but julis is kinda cute.
MC isn't a bad guy but jesus I wish the characters would stop talking about him.
Kirin and Saya would be pretty cute together but
I hate this shit.
At least like 3/10 trash rather than shit that raises SAO from a 1 to a 1.5
I thought erased was alright though, just a rushed adaption. I don't know why he, ans his followers, have such a raging hateboner over the series
asterisk war isn't bad, its just unambitious to a fault. It just goes through the motions of a harem, there to sell you figurines of the girls and make the studio money so they can get food and beer
>Not ignoring him
It's like you people want a repeat of what happened last time.
It has the "tell but doesn't show" problem.
it talks about how the world has problems and how theres fights in the streets and the like but it never actually has this happen.
It'd be fine if it just stopped pretending it had any interest in world-building and just focused on the characters.
Its a bit of a low-hanging fruit so going on a twelve-episode rant about how its shit is a bit much.
But the point was so digibro could talk, at length, all about why he drops so many anime rather than deliver a killing blow to Asterik War since its clear it has its niche and nothing is going to change that.
I prefer it when its like to-love-ru and it drops all pretenses of being anything more than harem
Too bad that won't stop him from shitting up the thread and samefag to hammer down his hate for it.
If you stopped talking about him, there would be more threads about the show than about what people think of the show.
does the teacher ever get more presence in the show? I want my biker-gang homeroom teacher
>show dont tell
> problems and how theres fights in the streets and the like but it never actually has this happen.
didn't watch the last 4 episodes of the first cour with the vamps sisters did you? did you even pay attention to le wolf academy at all for that matter?
A1 did what they could to improved Boku Dake, the problem was that the source was weak. I don't get the hate for A1, they're fine and oftentimes the problem is with the material they adapt.
Jules is the kind of girl I hate to see leave, but I love to watch her go.
Not really. Ayato’s homeroom teacher pop up a couple of times though. The plot doesn't focus on what goes on in the classroom, and it shouldn't anyways. But we do have fun POLITICS.
Just the girls and some shows have cool visuals during fights. Nobody watches them for the plot.
Cute girls and a generic turn off your brain plotline to pass time. It's a good way to tide me over each season.
Though I personally prefer romcom harems more than their battle counterparts.
I'm just here to follow for the girl(s) I like. Also, for the cool battles and catchy visuals.
Am I the only one who wants to fuck the genki announcer?
Remider that Julis is used goods.
I'm the same as >>139618390. Shame Asterisk doesn't have many assshots.
As someone who have read the translated novels and checked spoilers of volumes not translated yet, the one thing I'm curious about is what's Ernest's deal/goal? Also, is it true his sword rejected him?
julis is the closest being that her brother is openly shipping them to their embarassment, then sylvia who got a date with him, then kuudere loli who confessed in v8, then claudia who sorta confessed in v9 but wants to redo her confession after almost dying because reasons
>tfw you slightly preferred Asterisk to Rakudai but didn't have very strong feelings either way
you guess is as good as mine, i'm up to v7 and only know spoilers about 8 and 9. i think she may know about the death fights which is why she's pushing for robo fighters. she doesn't seem to be outright evil to me
I was referring to Ernest, and not Ernesta. Understandable mistake though.
We're up to volume 10 already and the "supposed" spoilers of Ernest getting rejected probably came from there.
Summarize a shortcoming.
It's good enough to be harem of its season. Twice.
>A good girl, but has a bad habit of flaming simultaneously
How can she be such a best?
Her relationship with Iato is pretty good. They act more like bro's which is one of my favorite things between a male and female lead rather then just the usual shenanigans where the female lead creams themselves over how cool the MC is.
They work well together.
Agreed. Since Inou Battle there wasn't a main couple having actual chemistry.
yeah i agree, they have chemistry both as friends and allies. i'd rather this type of build up to an eventual ship vs "i feel bad for trying to ill you, so now i lust for your cock".
its funny how even haremfags accept that harem battle shows are shit, just because is the one ongoing they will say "It's above average" but as soon as the next season (fall) brings a new show they will stick to it and the generic harem plot shit. (boy in only girls school with battle plot that doesn't make sense)
Nah. It's just the same old shit. You like trashy battle harems? Go ahead.
It doesn't have anything going for it aside from two 10/10 EDs and an above average budget courtesy of Aniplex.
So this is what people watching this series is about? lusting over a character? you can watch hentai with better plot line and more of your fetishes on it. why would you put a fake front to your show with a really mediocre attempt of action-battle genre.
I knew, but I'm still conflicted. My dick wants to impregnate the girl twin but my head is telling me they're both identical except the girl has blush, longer eyelashes and tits.
It's good, not the best thing I've ever read in a while, but is pretty decent.
She's in fact psychologically utterly inhuman, and best qualified as post-sane.
I don't think the show would quite do her affliction justice, but they at least tried and it is easily the most terrifying detail in the whole franchise I know of, by an order of fucking magnitude.
We have different anal tastes, my friend. I can't enjoy anal (or sex full stop, for that matter) if the girl isn't psychologically into it.
And I feel like Saya is way more lewd than she lets on. Remember how she dropbeared Ayato?
I like the idea of making someone an anal slut when they previously weren't, but what's important is that you're a fellow analbro.
Saya would probably be dick-crushingly tight. Seeing my dick disappear up her asshole would be very fulfilling.
Hey maybe it's the payment her dual Ogre Lux asks for to alleviate her torments. I mean, one of them took payment in blood and changed the wielder's body to extract blood more easily.
What to say Claudia's doesn't ask for semen in the same way?
I know it sounds lewd and Magical Realm'ish but that might only add to her personal horror if she doesn't get much choice in the matter. She can't even give up on the weapon, someone would fucking destroy her.
I usually don't watch harem shows for precisely this reason. Sometimes several of the girls are good and nice people, and whatever romantic resolution happens, some of them are going to get burned, which is hard on empathetic viewers.
Being Claudia is suffering. I want to give her a hug platonically.
>I usually don't watch harem shows for precisely this reason. Sometimes several of the girls are good and nice people, and whatever romantic resolution happens, some of them are going to get burned, which is hard on empathetic viewers.
thinks of the bullshit tsukki tsukki pulled
*shutters with incomprehensible rage*
Hey, /a/, /TG/anon here. I am currently developing a "magical battle school" tabletops project which will allow you to generate your school and have Asterisk/Rakudai/Mahouka-ish adventures, based on Fate Core.
Would someone here be interested in such a thing were it to become available?
The other Pan-Dora wielders couldn't stand the suffering for more than a few days, right? I'd like to give her a hug too. But not only platonically.
Now I want a doujin where an Ogre Lux asks for regular semen offerings.
Yes, I think someone in the threads say that it was something like a week tops.
Man, imagine her resolve. She finally meets someone that she can empathise with, who can understand her plight, and who she literally almost throws herself at (what with the bathrobe service)... And he runs away. I would have probably trashed the room in her place. And she just smiled ruefully and went to sleep to be fucking killed again. The -fucking willpower- this must have taken.
Another idea for Claudia doujins I had is... Pan-Dora might well have cycled through deaths via sexual strangulation, overload on euphoretics, intravaginal bleeding from extra large penile insertion, and orgasm-induced seizures at some point in those 1200+ deaths. It is really close to snuff though, so not for the common fetish user.
Maybe he hates because she is a manipulative in general. She really is that kind of person.
But to shed some light here.
Claudia is essentially the reason why Ayato got guided to Seidoukan. Her whole plan was to use him in order to fulfill a wish. Her Lux's enables her to see her own death that happens in the future. Everyone she knows or comes to knows kills in her dream except Ayato, a person she hasn't met yet. So, she gets close to him and schemes around other people/opposing parties in order to achieve that event where she doesn't get killed.
My answer will always be Queenvale.
But Galahadworth -is- a better romanisation for a school of knights, no? And the (H)arlequin(t) is a character from Pinocchio, which links well to AI. What does Allekant stand for?
You don't want to be a kawakamifag and cosplay as though you were a horizon character?
>He wouldn't want to be a fabulous knight
The threads were a nightmare in airing days, but a cople of days later the shitposter would go back to their containment threads till the next airing. Is what led to many anons to go to the antimagic threads
It's a damn shame Ayato would not pick a girl ever. Can anyone explain why does the MC in such shows never pick anyone and stick
inwith them? Is it because the girl picked would get sullied or some other Japanese cultural shitdickery?
For that matter, why not have several MCs so that there aren't more than 2-3 girls lusting for each individual cock? You can even argue that several MC personalities would make it easier for the viewer to find someone to empathise with and self insert into.
I'm under the impression Julis has the best chance to win the Ayatobowl. Failing that, harem end is the only possible alternative.
It happens a few times, not exactly with side characters having their own harems but them having girls are nice too.
But it rarely ever happens and every other male character is relegated to either being a complete fucking sleazy scumbag or just as a joke character, like what SAO did.
Nah, it's obviously that she would win. But you know, he didn't DO anything, he didn't actively pursue her at all. I'd like to have a battle show with a human person romance someday, not overblown anime romance. With kisses at the start and not at the tail end of the relationship to finalize and confirm it for the viewers for example. Funny makeouts on tops of fucking buildings because everyone of note is a fucking superhero here and can jump good. Things like that, interspersed by teamwork-born-out-of-love-and-mutual-friendship/trust like we had in S2E1.
I've never seen a harem show like that. Probably Rakudai comes closest.
You know, I have no fucking idea why don't they cooperate and have a crossover special. I mean, it is an obvious tool to create hype in both fan bases.
Something like that SAO X Accel World crossover, just across authors. Not big, short story plus 3-5 pictures of illustration sized.
>forgetting Krul's kiss(es) and personality
I can at least appreciate the unbelievable levels of bullshit and rightwing Japanese imperialism but yeah, I wouldn't bother with both ever again.
Personality that could only come to light when the MC was a complete tool, thanks but no thanks.
It's not a question of bar, I realize that Rakudai has flaws. Besides, Ikki knew her for months (since she's been going with him on his crazy as fuck morning routines for multiple weeks) before he kissed her. So it's not a week in either case.
The other problem is that I didn't watch or read SAO at all, so I have no idea how it pans out. I didn't even know it is a harem show. I thought it was straight romance/mmo?
Not as intense and satisfactory as sex with Sylvia.
It seems not even in japan the fanbases get along very well. Plus, powerlevels are a nightmare to match
Be thankful I never saved the ballcrusher Beato fics from the Schwarzesmarken threads anon. Your balls would end very empty indeed
I loved Schwarzesmarken threads
Even they had a decent MC with a psycho sister.
Let me just second that. He could have kissed Julis like half a dozen times during the screentime of s1 with full dramatic support and proper feel. That's how real life people start damned kissing! But nooo, muh waifuous purity.
I want a good romance show now.
What? He did things for her. The reason Julis trusts his abilities and started to have affections is because of what he did for her in the first arc of the story. Current anime timeline doesn't have Ayato actively pursuing her romantically because that isn't on his mind right now. The marriage proposal isn't brought up until volume 6, and that should be in the last arc of S2.
The wonders plot
and PLOTcan do for a series.
It's actually S1 E13-24. I think the poster is asking for a legit S2, which would have the third and fourth cours of this show. Where >>139625351 becomes relevant, unfortunately.
I don't like that idea.
Beatrix, the main antagonist of the show is also the biggest bombshell around and was a tease that would even play around a bit with the MC, and even he would be flustered despite hating her guts. The anime version though, let a lot of her characterization behind and made her a cartoonish evil character that would harm others just because and enjoyed their pain. A writing anon took that and wrote fics where she would literally rip the balls of the protagonist (just another victim, not the actual MC)
It amazes me seeing season after season of them trying throw a variety of shit on the wall just to see what sticks. This time they're going to try their hand at the GuP/SW appeal with Hai-furi.
Anything except other Ogre Luxes, which are powered thing that gives a weapon something akin to a soul (and gives Ardy emotions.)
Which would mean that blazer-manifested weapons might quite well be similarly immune to Ser-Veresta's ability, since they are basically weapon-shaped Stands.
Besides, it need not involve an actual fight. I'd love some social interaction. It's rather impossible because different publishers et al, but... A man can dream.
Well, he can Itto Rasetsu Ayato's ass and probably is a marginally better swordsman, all considered. They would both get a lot of enjoyment out of practising together, at the very least.
So is Ougi capable of crossing over into other shows and splitting into both versions of herself?
>Which would mean that blazer-manifested weapons might quite well be similarly immune to Ser-Veresta's ability
ogre lux's are sentient, not a part of the user's soul. that's why ardy has a personality.
yeah interaction would be funny. maybe they can laugh at their fanbase wars
He is at first seal Ayato level at most. Perhaps he is at second seal level now that there are spoilers about majin or some shit, but nowhere close to third seal, and even less if Ayato truly broke that once and for all too. Also, Ser Versta can actually break others ogre lux, it just takes a lot more effort, so someone like Ernest, Orphelia and Fan that are at least equal or above fully unsealed Ayato fights it would probably end with them breaking the blazers. What would do that to them again? Ever explored that possibility?
ayato can insta-blitz too as seen by the first festa fight, and is not a stupid like touka to the point of not dodging. tis still a fun match but would be a battle of attrition with ikki fighting uphill
Well, Ikki broke Tohka's Narukami and she's fine. So... Not much beyond the obvious match loss, I guess?
But yeah, Ayato is more broken. I am just comparing shit for the devil advocacy and fun.
It's not reaching, I am just enabling an actual conflict rather than "Ser-Veresta's cut all things ability autowins." Sure it's technically true. But is it fun or engaging? Not really, right?
You know, I would love to see Ser-Veresta's ability start extending to conceptual shit once it accepts Ayato fully.
Like cutting apart space to teleport or cutting away someone's ability to speak or things like that. It sure is powerful but bland now.
well if we include ikki's zero accel sword strikes he took from edelwiese it gets much closer as ayato doesn't have that in is arsenal.
the only way to make a fight between them even is if it's a 10 minite fight with ikki in his awakening from v9 vs 1st/2nd seal ayato
Korona can predict the future, though since she doesn't even know she has that ability she always says the reverse result. And yes, a lot of names have that feel, though I'd say the author is going for a more general mythologies naming sense. No one beats Orphelia's Ereshkigal though
It would make sense if it can cut through concepts though. It is usually compared to Ser-Versta as an equally strong offensive weapon, so if Ser-Versta is the sword that cuts apart everything in existence, Lei-Glems would be the swords that cuts that wich doesn't/shouldn't exist
Eh, Ser-Versta is perceived as the sword that can destroy what it touches. That's done through heat. Because of that, it's well-known for its destructiveness. Lei-Glems is more famous than Ser-Versta and arguably higher tank. That sword might not be as destructive on a large scale or in a violent nature like Ser-Versta, but Lei-Glems is the sword that can cut anything its user wish.
I think that would be Lei-Glems's power, as I stand by my "it cuts concepts and things that shouldn't exist" theory. Even if Ser-Versta could destroy them as it did with Gravi-Sheath field, it would have to allow Ayato to use its full power and I think it is using those same limiters to test him, so it would never allow that. Who knows what kind of backlash could have too
As far as I know, that's not related. The bottom line to Ser-Versta's ability is to burn all of creation. That's the motif. The abilities of Orge Lux's are of no exception to it, so long as it materializes for Ser-Versta to burn. Ayato's sister has the personal ability to bind all of creation. I guess at some point Ayato might try to burn bind placed on him. But remember that Ser-Versta can only burn things that it can touch, and right now the bind placed on Ayato can't be touched. Another thing, Ayato, at the time of volume 7, can't control Ser-Versta well enough to always do what he did against the vampire sisters, which at that time was his feat feat of burning away the an Orge Lux's ability.
Re-watching some of us S1 because BDs here. Julis is somehow more lovely than I remember. And Ayato is fairly charming when he puts his mind to it. A humble guy, but has confidence when it counts and calls it as it is when he's teasing or serious. He's above average, which is frankly better than most harem MCs.
>There is a Christmas cake named Helga who can manipulate time of her own surroundings
>Helga is a beautiful woman who won Lindvolus more than half a century ago
>Was hailed as the strongest Strega in all of Asterisk's history
>Currently takes the form of a teenage girl similar to a student, but at other times can be seen with the form of a loli
>Ayato and Helga got acquainted and hit it off pretty well
>And still Fan is implied to be stronger than the two of them, being an existence of a different dimension
I can respect that . But I do think it's a shame since he's not terrible or anything.
I don't doubt that there are some who are similar, but in my experience it's not common enough that I could name at the top of my head. On the other hand, the cowardly, whiny, immature, horny, hot-blooded, and the sort harem MCs are numerous that most people can list off the top of their heads.
That's like the 10th time someone has linked me that webm.
Ayato is inoffensive and those traits could be argued to be found in the other two series that aired at the same time. As far as conventions go, those two deviated from the regular norm and Asterisk really didn't. Granted, Asterisk's funding placed itself decently into the battle-harem genre since no other series really got the time to like this.
It's a fair gesture but Ayato is not a strong suite to the series by any means as of right now I feel.
That can't be right. I made that webm several minutes ago. I haven't watched the BD yet until today and that's from BD source. But I digress. He's inoffensive so that's why I think he isn't terrible by an objective measure. It's obvious you're referring to Takeru and Ikki and while those two are inoffensive as well, their personality isn't like Ayato as a simple and humble guy. The one thing they do have in common is that they all have confidence though.
While I don't think he's the best thing to the series, I do think he's one of the better things about it and I'll leave it at that.
The non-BD version of that has been floating around for quite a while and been linked many many times. It's honestly tiring to see.
I think simple and humble actually do fit the other two quite well. Ikki is definitely humble given his background but humility is something he's also forced into to not lose his cool. I'll give you simple on him cause he's got a few more things for him. Takeru himself is even more humble with his own acknowledgement that he lacks leadership skills and more simple when he knows what he's about as the close-combat only guy.
And I'll still stick to him being a non-issue/negative to the series. The first episode of the new cour was decent enough but it'll take a lot for me to change that.
It can't be helped. BDs haven't gotten far and that's the most relevant flag event.
I'll comment this. Ikki does have some humbleness to his background, but it's pretty different. He strives to surpass others who possesses talents that he doesn't have. He perceives that his standing is lower with a smile and fools around since he's used to it, but he doesn't think that his ability is modest. Takeru at first was anything but humble. He was pretty smug about himself until Ouka beat him. After that, he matured a bit and tries show restraint, but if people go too far with the ridicules, he at times loses it and go demon-like (not always seriously though).
I like he meant contrary reactions.
I want to
Is it bad that I kinda want to befriend Julis and Ayato and most of the cast, really? Not for any sexual or semen Demon reasons, but just because they have all this City of Adventure thing going on, and I'd have fun coaching Ayato how to deal with girls.
Also, I feel so bad for Lester. He's a top tier fighter, if I recall correctly, but he's doomed to always job, because he's matched up with people who won at getting plot-related superpowers (Ayato, combat-focused vampire sis) or are just plain lucky (Julis being a Strega, which has a ~1.8% chance to happen.)
He's ultimately probably not a shitty guy, just utterly outclassed and understandably frustrated by putting in a lot of sweat and getting shat upon. I feel bad for him.
I like how smart she is in addition to being qt, most of the strategies she and Ayato use come from her
Because it's a fun show that you do not need to devote much investment to to enjoy.
Think of it like the glucose of anime, where you don't need much energy to crack the molecule and get a sugar hit.
I guess, still I don't see why anybody would want to insert into this particular MC, yeah he's overpowered as fuck but he's beta as fuck even compared to other shitty harem MCs.
So it's best watched while completely shitfaced. Got it.
I'm doing research for the /tabletops/ project I mentioned upthread, mostly. Also cut out a couple of webms to illustrate things for Exalted RPG.
Saya's Wolfdora, for example, makes a good illustration for a heavy essence cannon and Overwhelming Ruinous Ordnance Style.
You'd miss stuff if completely shitfaced. 'Somewhat tipsy' is probably acceptable, though. I wouldn't know since I don't like the taste of most alcohol beverages and am slightly over 6'6'' tall. It's actually quite hard for me to get shitfaced without copious amounts of hard liqor.
That's what I was trying to say. People like it solely because it's a combat-harem anime.
The rest of the series doesn't matter to the kind of people that unironically enjoy Asterisk War. Its schizophrenic tone, horrible visual presentation, characters that both come out of nowhere and act out of nowhere, a setting that practically forcibly divorces the viewer from any possibility of engaging with the characters (unless you're some kind of thick-skulled autist who can't pick up on things like subtext), and a "romance" (which I use with air-quotes so heavy and distended they resemble whale-tier beef curtains) that is stalled with several hundred potatoes up the tailpipe and several metric tons of sugar in the gas tank just so that the beta-as-fuck, inconsistent as hell, milquetoast blatant self-insert "we want to cater to everyone so we cater to no one" MC...
None of that matters to the kind of legitimate retard who actually ENJOYS this sort of trite, tropey-ass, uncommitted, unambitious, horribly animated piece of trash, nor indeed to the kind of people who would defend it on an internet forum.
>It must be a shitpost because I don't agree with it
>I wasn't a stupid faggot, it was a shitpost! You must be NEW if you think otherwise!
Guess what fucker, there may be a lot of shitposting in this shithole but not everything is a shitpost.
Of course. You never know when Ayato might want to use it.
I've got to go with Garrardworth: they place the least emphasis on being teamkilling assholes.
Plus, like, tactics and shit.
Sanity is a fragile thing, and depending on definition, is often untenable. I posit that Claudia's psyche is neither "normal", sane and balanced like a common well-adjusted person, nor "insane", the broken and damaged version of the previous one.
She rather is post-sane -- her mental state cannot be correctly represented on the sane-insane axis. Her motivations and actions could be based on internal struggles wholly alien to a human being, yet her psyche is whole and undamaged, and internally consistent. Just... not fully human anymore, if at all.
