The other God were never aces for the MC, only dumb villains. And Xyzing into Utopia doesn't really have the same gravity as summoning a 4000 atk monster with op effects.

Except if Yugi doesn't exist, Kaiba doesn't go autismo over Blue-eyes since he woudn't know that Sugoroku had it and attempt to steal it.
In fact, without Yugi, Kaiba basically falls apart since there was no Atem to rival Priest Seto so that rivalry doesn't exist, neither would that Ka hunt which led him to meet Kisara and not love Blue-eyes White Dragon would occur and Zorc wouldn't probably wouldn't happen since they would have killed Bakura when he first showed his face.
DM would just collapse on itself if it weren't for Yugi. No Duelist Kingdom, No Battle City, No tournament and Kaiba would just be KoG and live out his days making theme parks.

I have come to the conclusion that it wasn't Synchro Arc that was bad, but rather the timing of going to Synchro that was bad. It feels out of place to the flow of where Arc-V was heading, and perhaps if we had gotten the Xyz Arc first it would have been a better transition because Heartland is related to the Dimensional War whereas Synchro had nothing doing, it would have been more engaging for Synchro to face the start of an invasion rather than the worker's revolution.
