This was in no way indicated in either the VN or the anime. Which is especially weird in the anime because it would have been very easy and simple to convey visually.

I just kind of overlooked it because egregious plotholes are rather the order of the day in FSN

Unless it's a critical wound (like Archer at the beginning of Fate route), most injuries heal very quickly by burning mana, which Archer had no shortage of thanks to Caster.
