She looks fucking hot
Rough translation until someone more eloquent and skilled gives a better one.
>Title: Wet Best Friend [or "Soaked Best Friend"]
>(*Creak*) "Sorry 'bout making ya' wait."
> "Let's hurry and play some video games"
> "What's up with your cheeks?" "They've kinda gotten red" (*back up*)
> *Eh?...Why...?* (*Glare*) "Sorry, I shouldn't have done that" "Shouldn't have done that"
That would be the biggest buildup on a hentai ever, and it would be glorious.
I think some translation argument may start
I did the rough translation above and I am not contesting this translation. I may have misunderstood what the object of 違う was. And the translation of the second 違う being causally, loosely translated as a reaffirmative seems less awkward to me.
Is this the finest image ever created?
First the manga became yuribait and now Fumita is clearly retconning Jun even further into a cut and dry shounen romcom MC.
It's gotten to the point where if they dont fuck by the end of this arc, I will be fucking salty.
>Carol and Misuzu get a bunch of screen time.
>"Bring back Jun and Tomo antics"
>Tomo and Jun shenanigans
>"This arc sucks, end it already"
>/a/ is one person
No matter what happens, there's always going to be an asshole that complains.
Well there are 2 factions, the tomboy teasing faction that read from the beginning and the yuribait faction that jumped in midway.
But both of them hate this arc because like >>138808949 says Jun is being an intolerable faggot and his personality is completely different from the beginning of the manga.
Being aware she's a girl is fine and all but apparently he's a beta faggot around girls so now the uniqueness is gone and he's just another romcom shitter.
Nothing will happen.
There will be no character development.
There will be no progression in their relationship.
They will go to school and act as if nothing happened because nothing actually happened.
I like this manga and all, but it'll just be like every other manga of its ilk ever.
Jun before his retcons would've happily tried to bath with her without realizing it. Or he would've been like "forgot my underwear" and boldly walked into the bathroom with his dick flopping around openly while Tomo was washing herself.
Anon, there was no yuribait faction. There are only people being faggots at any given moment. Most people probably like the entire thing, it's just there are people who are very vocal about disliking certain parts, because this is /a/. You've deluded yourselves into thinking something exists, when it doesn't.
No because oyu have some retarded dilemma where both people want each other but don't want to lose each other so the guy doesn't do anything to make it awkward and the girl is too beta to just hold pin him down and ride his cock.
I'm trying to figure it out too. Without tomboy molestation what even was there?
What I don't get is why Tomo is being all cagey about this anyway.
Considering she WANTS to date the guy, she should be relishing the chance to flaunt her girly side in order to woo him over.
>can read everything except that last kanji
>look it up (違う)
Loving Every Laugh
That's the entire point of the story. She has no idea how to flaunt her girly side in the first place, and she also doesn't understand that her girly side would woo him over. Her idea of romance is using her fists to make Jun understand.
There are going to be a bunch of awkward sex jokes revolving around Tomo being dense and Jun being denser. They will inevitably actually stay up all night competitively playing video games after which Tomo will hate herself once she gets a moment alone. Then the next time they're at school someone will get the wrong idea when Jun says something ambiguous about what they did the night before leading someone else to believe they actually had sex. Then confusion and anger when Tomo and Gundou find out. Jun will probably get punched in the end.
It will be something like that.
Am I too late?
Fuck, I'll personally go to Japan and stab Fumita if this happens.
>Cue "stayed up all night" or "tomo/jun kept me up all night" bonus points for "she/he really put up a fight (at video games)"
Jun is on a razor's edge right now. Something is going to happen at the end of this event. Not with Tomo, but with Jun's ability keep his feelings completely bottled up about about Tomo. This will spill over with one of his guy friends. Maybe even Senpai. Love triangle arc incoming.
She's dense, and he has to keep in control at all times and pretend like he's aloof because she's not sure what she wants yet even when she thinks she does, and he has even less idea about how to approach it than her.
Its not a good combo for ever getting things done.
This will never happen but I'd love it if the next comic is just both of them snapping and making out before going at it all night and the manga just ends. They laugh about how it took them this long.
This comic right here pretty much sets the relationship.
I need a cropped version of that tomo in the last panel.
>IF TOMO DOESN'T FUCK SOMEONE SOON I'M GOING TO EXPLODE
Anon, I have some bad news for you.
I hate this comic because it's pretty much an exercise in sustaining JUST FUCK ALREADY for as long as possible by making all the characters the most dense and idiotic people imaginable.
I started reading it for the cute tomboy, but I'm dropping it because it feels like 300 comics have gone by and we haven't gone anywhere.
>I hate this comic because it's pretty much an exercise in sustaining JUST FUCK ALREADY for as long as possible by making all the characters the most dense and idiotic people imaginable.
That's just the meta-narrative that dominates the industry. But what this manga is really about is delicious smut of a smoking tomboy whose self-conscious gender confusion is the stuff that diamond hard-ons are made of. Also, it's about a blonde icon to fuwa-fuwa and a feisty dark-haired pettanko who are both also hardcore social vipers that enjoy yuribaiting said delicious tomboy by flirting with her osananajimi/crush etc.
>People are constantly forgetting just how short this series is.
In this way, Tomo-chan is kind of like the Teekyuu of 4-koma mangas
It's not a shoop but it's from someone's imagination. Either tomo's or jun's can't remember. I think it's jun's.
>She's also incredibly cute for some reason. I mean tomo and blondy look great but mizusu is on a whole other level.
It's not that Gundou is yuribait, she's just literally too good for anyone but Tomo or Cotton Candy.
>everyone is literally guiding their dick and pussy into eachother
>shit is like threading a needle because girl is too shy and the guy is a typical STAYPURE japcuck
this is stressful just bring me back to Carolshenanigans
Mizusu looks best when she's cucking her friend and paired with Jun, this has been been fact for hundreds of chapters.
Honestly, Tomo and Jun are too similar anyways and would make a shit couple.
>after bath Tomo
I can't. I just, can't.
>Seriously suggesting Jun is anything more than just a plaything for Misuzu.
I can't help but obsess about how she would smell right after a bath.
Imagine Tomo coming out smelling fresh and clean, with a slight scent of soap and shampoo.
She wouldn't use any perfume or anything so you'd just have her natural, clean smell.
Bless this man's chastity for any man with a dick would plow that til kingdom come.
>dated in middle school
>now in high school
>constantly approaches him
>conversations are largely romantic/sexual in nature
>tries to fuck up his relationships with other girls
>tries to egg on other boys to pursue his canon love interest
>keeps hanging around him even though she knows she'll be abused
>he puts up with it because he feels guilty about being the one to ask her out and then being the one to dump her
>she can only smile when she's teasing him or thinking about him
>casually flirts with him on their days off
Jun clearly has the power in the relationship. Mizusu's feelings for Jun seem like a mix of saltiness, liking, denial, and Tomo envy.
I meant it in the "pissed at being dumped" way but I suppose the "vaginal discharge" way works just as well.
yes. you can tell a lot from those expressions
that's exactly what i pointed out, and it's what's weird about the situation. If someone else had slapped him it would look different, so tomo might figure out he slapped himself.
Different schools and puberty awkwardness. He dated Mizu in that time and it went horribly so now that they've paired up again he's trying his hardest to avoid losing his best bro.
I don't know who translated this but I think they took huge liberties with the translation in the last panel. The way Tomo's line is translated implies that her surprise is a result of Jun's reddened cheeks but I believe a more accurate interpretation is that she's shocked at the way he jerked away from her touch. Here's something that might make more sense:
>What's up with you...?
>It's not what you think.
What I get out of this translation is that Tomo is worried Jun was jacking off while she was in the shower.
I don't get how hand marks on someone's face implies they fapped.
Have I been doing it wrong all these years?
She didn't say hand marks, she said "your cheeks is kinda red". Doesn't your face get all flushed after a good fap session?
Yes, which is why Jun was so quick to deny fapping.
Are you retarded or is this your first manga? Japanese men aren't allowed to masturbate and Japanese girls aren't allowed to know about masturbation. Not to mention it's literally a Seitokai Yakuindomo tier joke and they're not even close to the same genre or humor.
I managed to get a sneak preview of the next chapter.
Ok, I have read a bunch of posts and I still don't get it.
What the fuck is "Don't tell me..." supposed to mean?
What is she thinking here?
Is this just an awful translation which I shouldn't concern myself about?
It's a bad attempt to show the possible meanings of the exchange.
Tomo's confused and nothing else, I think, but Jun is trying to convince her that it isn't whatever she thinks it is, be it that he pulled back on purpose, or that he slapped himself. I think.
Awful translation. She says
which literally means
as in "Why did you brush my hand away?". She seems confused by his reaction, not imagining some situation as "Don't tell me you..." implies.
Which also leads to "Sorry, but it's not whatever you think it is" and "Trust me on this" being an amazingly awful translation, as
as in "Sorry, I was wrong in brushing your hand away".
It's very awkward to translate no matter what. They're speaking so vaguely that they could be easily construed to be talking about something else like the first translation is implying. It was a poor attempt to capture both.
well at least for me, despise being generic, I like the characters and jokes, and I find it really fun, it have a charm that other generics mangas for a reason don't have, at least for me.
Sadly I dont think it came out as good as I'da liked.
o shit, i forgot what chapter that was. I colorred it when it came out. Fixed eyes coming out in a second since I can't draw with shop
OKAY LISTEN UP, AUTISTS.
There's a reason this "I don't get it" meme exists, and this chapter is a pretty good example. Tomo-chan can be really ambiguous and notoriously difficult to translate. Some chapters are actually really subtle, as well. I'm not gonna come in here and claim that I have any absolute answers, but I can clear up some major confusion for any of you nerds who don't get it at all.
Let's get the last chapter out of the way, first of all. Jun slapped the shit out of himself in attempt to remain composed while Tomo is all nude and squishy in his bath water. He is actively repressing romantic urges toward Tomo, and his fortitude is being severely tested. He's trying to shock himself out of lewd thoughts and back into his comfortable repression. In the first panel he's clearly shown lost in thought. The title is "My Best Friend's in My Bathroom". It's all pretty clear.
Now, we have two competing interpretations for this chapter, and obviously the jury is still out on the translation. The first, simpler interpretation is this one: >>138810855 where Tomo asks "why...?" and Jun is just apologizing for flinching and pushing her hand away.
The way I see it, there are two problems with this: first, there's no gag. There's not really a punchline in the final panel. It doesn't make sense in the format which has been established. Second, Tomo's reaction is over-the-top. She's not just shocked, she has an intensely suspicious, ominous look on her face. Look at all the shading over her eyes. Would she really react that way if she were just confused? Those eyebrows aren't just confused.
So now we've got the second interpretation, which may have been delivered in a sort of ham-fisted way here: >>138808042 In this interpretation Tomo has a suspicion about why Jun's cheeks are red. She thinks he's blushing, an indication of possible sexual arousal. She either thinks that he got all boned up because she was in the bath, or that he just pounded off to the thought of her in said bath. Which one you think it is should be governed by how extreme you think that facial expression of hers is. But keep in mind the whole nip arousal / blood pressure thing. That's the key here. Blushing, nose-bleeds, sexual arousal, all tied up together. Jun knows what she's thinking and is telling her that she's wrong. He doesn't want to explain it further if he doesn't have to because that will also be awkward, but he definitely doesn't want her thinking what she's thinking now.
I'm not saying one of these is right and one is wrong, I'm not fluent in Japanese, and we have to work with the translations we're given. I will say that the truth is probably somewhere in the middle of these two translations. I'm inclined to think that the suspicious interpretation is more accurate because it fits better. There's a more distinct punchline, and her expression makes way more sense.
And I respect your decision not to read it.
Eventually Jun is gonna totally piss her off to the point where their friendship is in jeopardy. He's gonna offend her to the point where she challenges him to a fight. Dojo, after school, just you and me, that sort of thing. They're gonna fight for a while, Jun will come to the ironic realization that trying to hold onto their friendship by refusing any romantic entanglement has only pushed the two of them apart, that he's been a fool, and that he only has one road left open to him. Tomo beats his ass and they end up making out a little. The end.
>She thinks he's blushing, an indication of possible sexual arousal.
Knowing tomo, if she thought or pick up any sense of sexual arousel
which she's kinda dense to pick up any signals as shown previouslyshe'll panic instead and blush. So I'm gonna stick with this one that makes more since for me.
>she'll panic instead and blush
You're right that this is kind of her MO. But I'd argue that that has pretty much only been when Misuzu has suggested she take sexual action. In this case she just has a vague suspicion that something might have been going on. Maybe she even suspects that he was peaking on her, that seems like a cliche enough trope that it could just be vaguely implied like this.
Are we all waiting for the same thing? Are we waiting for Jun to man up and fuck her three holes sensely until they're a sloppy, dripping mess?
Jun is basically this faggot.
Not at all, Tomo has not made any advances on him, and seriously, Jun seems to be the only one trying to keep their relationship up.
Tomo is too busy spewing spaghetti to actually spend quality time with Jun, while he´s, at the very least, always inviting her to do stuff.
>. Second, Tomo's reaction is over-the-top. She's not just shocked, she has an intensely suspicious, ominous look on her face. Look at all the shading over her eyes. Would she really react that way if she were just confused?
That's why she has sound reaction as well, which is http://thejadednetwork.com/sfx/browse/ga-n/ And that's why translating sounds is important, so there would be less overthinking like yours.
By that point I will desperately need that sweet cathartic release.
Shouldn't the last panel just read
>Sorry! I didn't mean to.
It's not what you think makes no sense because she's just wondering why he slapped her hand away. He's just apologizing and saying his reaction was weird.
super rough translation
>"Whats with him?" "He seems strangely uneasy..."
>"M-maybe jun is..." "conscious of me in this situation!?" *doki doki*
>"What should i do..." "i should probably say something..."
>"Alright Tomo! Lets play some games!" "Huuh?"
So just double-checking. The correct translation of this page is along the lines of >>138806382 and >>138810855 right? Where Jun as apologizing and saying he regrets his action, correct?
Time to bet up your lolis. Will Junichiro be able to not break before the night ends? Will he be able to resist Tomo's tomos in her pyjamas? Is his so called manly will strong enough? Will literally who ever be relevant again? Will this manga ever go back to the way in was for the first 50 chapters?
The answer to all of them is no.
what you're looking for is that he doesn't draw the backgrounds very often. In the OP image he just used a gradient for the 2nd and 4th panel and the first is really basic.
this one its same deal, 2nd and 4th panel are simple backgrounds.
>What's up with him?
>This is so awkward...
>C-could it be that Jun is...
>Just as nervous as me!?
>What should I do...
>Since I've come this far maybe I should say something...
>Alright, Tomo! Let's start gaming!
anybody feel like Tomo is just going to rape Jun eventually when she can't take it anymore?
Cause Tomo's mom talks about how her father becomes a beast/animal when he gets pushed to far so....
I'm looking forward to the after scene of the two in bed with Tomo smoking a ciggeratte looking wistfully off into the distance while Jun is next to her in fetal position crying about "B-bro's don't do that to bro's."
A bloo bloo bloo
Jun is trying really hard not to fall for Tomo or not to let her know how he feels. He probably thinks dating her would ruin their friendship.
Basically he's being a little bitch and should bend Tomo over the counter and make her a real girl for the night.
It's because it's a different look from normal. If you had a girlfriend, you'd understand. Just seeing right after she's gotten out of the shower...
It's like glasses on a girl who normally wears contacts.
k so my phone browser can't save pictures
good to note
Oh but it can set wallpapers
He was just reminded of that time when he got a boner when Tomo got wet in the rain. Which is further emphasised by the titles.
>Wet Best Friend
He's all awkward and jumpy.
>Dry Best Friend
He's back to being normal and "dense".
The ultimate fetish for /a/nons with fine taste. There is nothing better than a tomboy in a one-piece.
So no one is even going to post a thread for the new chapter? Tomo-chan is dead. Author should just go out with a doujin ending before the end of the arc and capitalize off the momentum with a spin-off about Gundou and Cotton Candy.
>OKAY LISTEN UP, AUTISTS.
>I'm not fluent in Japanese
>making new threads when there is one already up and not at the bump limit
It's a page, you don't get new threads for pages when there isn't one unless it's a big event, like Guts getting off the boat.
