Honestly doubtful, at least with a traditional one anyways. The highschool romcom has gotten painful stale and suffers greatly from trying to appeal to otaku. A strong, interesting, and influential MC is less desirable than a typical self insert. Not to mention the purity ideals of otaku has a big impact of the choices for female characters, no girls with exs and no bad girls seriously screws with the amount of story options that can be used.
