What are you working on?
What are you being a lazy shit and not working on?
What do you need help with?
What do you wish got picked up?
>What do you need help with?
I couldn't find a link for shonen magazine edge latest issues raw so if someone have them please help me out
I could only find baidu links which sucks desu
Miracle Jump 04/16 is out and should arrive tomorrow on Friday. I'll scan the oneshots. Please tell me if you need anything else.
When this thread dies I'll check the ghost thread and post there. See you later.
>I'll scan the oneshots
Can you also scan the new serialization? Thanks as always.
>What are you being a lazy shit and not working on?
So, how about this?
Isn't this a possibility to rip all those manga that are only available on Bookwalker? Like, if worst comes to worst and we are never able to access their DRM ever again, it's possible to setup an auto screenshot program + an hotkey to save all the pages in a pretty ok resolution, depending on the monitor used.
Or am I missing something? I thought people would be more excited about this.
If something is already being planned I'll delete this message, just say so.
>it's possible to setup an auto screenshot program + an hotkey to save all the pages in a pretty ok resolution, depending on the monitor used.
Isn't there a bookwalker ripper working currently?
I thought that didn't work anymore. And even if it does, my point still stands.
I saw absolutely no posts about this offer. I thought people would be more excited at the prospect of all those series being finally available.
I don't know, I never bought from bookwalker so I was asking. But at any rate, the offer seems only usable for the english releases. Or can it be usable on japanese releases as well?
Probably will, but it's already been a few months and it'll be several more before any new chapters are out in volumes so I want to at least try to get a chapter or two out from the magazine raws.
Anyone interested in translating this? It's a three-chapter short series with art by the guy who did Medaka Box, and it's getting an OVA later this year.
No wonder I didn't understand what was wrong. Meh, sucks.
I doubt they'll ever find a way that's secure enough and yet somewhat accessible. I'm only reading a few series and the script was good enough for me. That's why I tried to fix it.
If you're competent enough, you simply fix it and distribute it again.
This has always worked until people stopped distributing their method(s) since they don't want to bother fixing it again.
Private distribution doesn't help much when it only takes them to know that someone wrote a tool to change shit around. In an ideal world the existence of the tool would have to be kept private.
They already know that people have it and still don't change it so often.
There's absolutely no way to stop that completely.
In an ideal world, there wouldn't exist any kind of DRM in the first place for shit you actually buy.
Typesetting manga about the Children's Crusade while listening to Powerwolf feels so satisfying, I'm crying chrism.
Someone pick this up please.
I wouldn't use this for scanlation, but it should be legible for the TL. It's not an EBJ rip, so it's 1024px. EBJ is 1600px. You'll have to ask someone to buy and rip it.
Cool. If you don't want to do it, I can probably do it myself eventually but it'd probably take a while.
Whole series is here. http://plus.shonenjump.com/rensai_detail.html?item_cd=SHSA_JP01PLUS00003049_57
Working Those Who Hunt Elves, Sorcerous Stabber Orphen and a couple other things including secret projects. Too busy with real life work (something you young-in's don't know jack about) to work on anything at the moment.

Houkago Wizard Club, new manga from Shonen Champion
I'm getting really tired of this bullshit. If you keep it up you don't have to worry about people distributing your secret tool because I'll see to it they see the fucking source. Get fucked.
>What do you wish got picked up?
Killer Killer, a new manga from Bessatsu mag
Can someone rip the new volume of Killing Bites?
It doesn't seem too bad, I tried making a rough translation of the first half or so of ch1 and it seems doable so far
It's almost 2AM here so I'll get some sleep first but I'll check back here when I wake up and give it a go tomorrow
Is there someone who can help me with the jap-eng translation of Cigarholic? I can do the redraw, typesetting and the cleaning.
I've just finished uploading COMIC Polaris' oneshots at the usual place. It's mostly romance, comedy and drama.
>Ditch the pen tool and do the redraw with mouse & brush tool
>Get it perfect on the first try
I wish someone would just finish Soil. A poster on Batoto even has the raw scans up for grabs, but the manga has been at a standstill since 2013.
It depends on what era you're aiming for. I like to use a font called Apple Kid, which is based off SNES-style games. 8bitoperator is good for an older, thicker look.
Normal Japanese text is pretty bland but I get where you're coming from when it comes to dialogue with brush. I switch between 3-4 similar brush fonts for those occasions, with some text warping.
eh, i'd say waifu2x gives good enough results.
only 10% would care for a quality better than 1080p
Dumbass here. Is there some site I can browse through to look for raws? Or do I need to already know the names of things in order to find them.
I wanna cut my teeth on something but I'd like to shop around for something that looks neat rather than pick one at random and hope I care enough to finish.
Good enough for me, thanks. Have some butts.
>45 pages in the first issue with weekly printing quality
>Author announces that he changed literally over 150 pages worth of art in volume 1, plus bonus chapters and character profiles
I don't know why I even bothered using magazines until now.
It seems to vary a lot. I've checked pretty much every digital store for a manga I want to buy and ebj is the same amazon (which have aliasing) but blurred.
Now the problem is that without ripper, you're shit out of luck and have to go with the easiest store to rip even if it means terrible x1200 raws.
I'm looking into buying some books and providing scans in the future, however I'm going into this knowing I'll have to basically destroy the books to get quality scans.
Is there a good guide on cutting the books properly without potentially destroying the actual art?
Does it matter what scanner you have? Or is it more about the settings? I have one of those printer/scanner hybrids and don't know if they'll be any good for this.
How risky is it importing ero doujins? Some of the stuff I like has subpar scans and I wanted to hopefully track them down at some point and make new ones.
No need to cut anything. You simply heat up the glue and the pages will separate really easily.
I'm personally using a hair dried, a heat gun or something should be better but not everyone has one.
As for the scanner, just test it. I personally prefer a CCD sensor, but the majority of the newer, affordable ones are CIS.
Default software is mostly shit and gives you almost zero customization, go for VueScan or something similar.
Depends on your country.
It's mostly only light novels from authors I liked.
Everything from Kawakami that's available digitally, including the manga, some Sakaki Ichirou.
I have some of that ripped while it still worked, and some not.
Planned and planning to get more but I stopped temporally until I get the means.
Latest chapter's raws of Girigiri Mangaka Fuufu no Kosodate Fundouki, Kyuuketsu Baito Kirishima-kun, Igarashi-kun to Nakahara-kun and Bungou Stray Dogs Wan! uploaded on the goddess.
Someone really need to tell Young Ace Up to stop encoding their image with jpeg q2.
>What do you wish got picked up?
Shinobi Gataki, a new manga from MxM & How I Stalked Some Dude with an Exposed Nipple mangaka
Anyone here wants more Adachi goodness and to speed up the releases of Mix? We actually have some chs translated for a change but the current proofreader is neither into the series nor baseball so he's taking his sweet time.
i'm so butthurt about right MxM. I spent a fuking time to clean and redraw the chapter 13 and the translator never got to do it after 6 or more months. Now another group did it.
That looks great, thanks a ton. I can start typesetting it now, should have it out tonight at the latest.
I usually don't bother, but is there anything you want to be credited as?
Happy to hear that, I'll start working on the rest after I finish up some other stuff then.
As for credits no need to put it in the release itself, but if you can mention me as RottenPantsu that'd be cool
Also feel free to change anything if you feel like it, of course
Don't worry about it, you can't even imagine how much better this is than the last script I worked with. I've got half the chapter typeset already, gonna try and get the rest done after
or duringmy classes.
Any person/group up for typesetting the brave anon's work to translate Minami-ke?
The thing is, those fonts doesn't look good on big scans, much less when letters themselves big too. I used fonts like in № 1, since they kinda look similar to original (menus notwithstanding), but people/translator asking to change it to "rpg-like font", hence № 2.
I myself still like № 1 more...
Don't know what to tell you then. In my opinion, it should match the original regardless but if they want it to look RPG-like, I guess keep looking until you find something.
When I did this chapter, I just went for the first old RPG font I found that had all the characters I needed, worked well enough.
Thanks. If you guys want to use the tank raws for chapters 1-6 and the magazine raws for chapters 7-24 they are in the usual place. I'll probably upload volume 2 later today there.
So is anyone typesetting this or not? Because I just started doing it
Eh nevermind, I'll clean it
Tell him that to work as a team you have to swap files often and that it's safe. He might be a retard, but at least he can help and give you his time in exchange for a little patience on your side.
I don't think I'll rotate this
sorry, I appreciate everything our psylocke overlords do for us
>>138705029 here. I got some terrible quality raws, so I'm looking for an editor for Shin Seitokai no Ichizon. It's 3 volumes and about 500 pages.
How do you deal with noisy raws? Some raws are bearable but sometimes I deal with shitty compressed chinese scans that are borderline unreadable. Is it better to ignore it or try to run it through filters?
No one? It's pic related
Slightly off topic, but is there a know way to rip from here?
It's getting a digital release and I like the art so I was planning to buy it, only if I can get the full quality out of it, though.
Alright one more attempt to shill for >>138760729.
How can you say no to this face?
As far as I know there's no ripper working right now. Screencap everything and for the art zoom as much as possible, screencap, stitch everything in photoshop and resize to x1600 height.
Let my try this first with something else I bought on a whim since it was on a sale to see what the illustration would look like.
This sounds like it will fuck with the quality quite a bit, though.
I'm happy to see britney getting some love in manga
If you only want the art, then get the images from a memory dump, but for LNs they use low resolution.
I just tried with the bookwalker preview for THE NEW GATE01 終わりと始まり, and the pages are x730px. I don't know if the paid ebook have higher resolution but if it's not the case you can screencap the pages just fine.
Well, here's the result.
The flash preview you mean?
They use lower resolution over there as far as I know.
Glad that's finally going digital. Now if only Shogakukan would release digital magazines other than the Big Comic series already, Sunday is pretty much the only one left..
Is it? I didn't notice. It needs it, because RED has really bad paper.
Uploading Comic BEAM 2016-03. Rakuten's seems to look better.
Yeah. Not sure when exactly, but Weekly Shonen Champion is now digital with a five-day delay, and they announced that all their magazines will be getting a digital release soon.
If someone is going to work on it, please applying some debanding because it's absolutely awful.
Any tips for redrawing speedline like this? I fucking hate those.
Ah, Tanabe Gou started another Lovecraft adaptation.
That's because those were screencapped, ripped images look better.
Alright, the whole series is out now. http://bato.to/comic/_/comics/luger-code-1951-r18433
Since today's apparently my lucky day for getting stuff translated, anyone feel like helping out with Killing Bites?
You can either fill the gaps with the pen line. Make sure to overlap the both ends and then blend it overlaps together by using a low opacity eraser.
You can also redraw the entire line and use the rectangular marquee tool to give it the triangular shape, and then use filters to soften it.
You can clone the gaps. You can also clone entire speedlines and rotate them to fit.
Also, sometimes the other half of the panel has entire speedlines. It's really circumstantial, but I've gotten away with duplicating the other half of the panel and flipping it.
Miracle Jump scans incoming
[mj 1604] 雑草家族 [小路啓之] (c1)
The Ponent Mon release A Patch of Dreams has "y" instead of "and" on one page. Makes one wonder if all their English releases are translated Jap->Spa->Eng; it's primarily a Spanish publisher and that's certainly a Spanish/English mistake.
The editors at Shogakukan can't count.
And that's it for this month if I didn't forget anything that has been requested.
Here's the preview for next month.
It was actually quite fun to translate, and a nice change of pace, looking forward to the anime now because yay werewolves.
I'm gonna go back to working on my usual stuff for now but I'll be around here sometimes so who knows
If I want to buy a manga from Rakuten or EBJ, after I bought them, how do I strip the DRM?
Is it the same with Amazon manga (With calibre's DeDRM) or should I use something else?
Is there anything more I can do to make this look better? I would want to make the lines softer somehow, but blur fucks it up totally.
How do you level this up then?
I guess no progress with Yukibana no Tora raws? volume 2 was just released
