What happened with Hokuto no Ken is that the dub actors found it way too violent. So they refused to dub it unless they could do whatever they like, hence hokuto de cuisine or nanto de vison.

It was AB Production's fault in the first place. At this time, they were literally buying "batchs" of anime without checking the content, so they ended with stuff like Hokuto no Ken being broadcasted in programs mainly watched by kids around 10 years old or younger, which made family association angry, as you can guess.

Why people that are from Latin america trash on Spanish dub so much?

Dont get me wrong, is not perfect and I dont defend it, but there are some good ones too. Also I feel they are really hypocrite too. They make jokes about Spanish dub changing things, when at the same time they have translations or dubs that change things too and most of them they dont even acknowledge it and think its the right thing.

Also most of the time there's no research about it. Spain has or had (Im not living on Spain anymore and as far as I know, the actual president got rid of the local TV and autonomic TV) 3 kinds of channels, local, autonomic or state and national. When Dragon ball came out for the first time, it was broadcasted on an state tv, the chapters came straight form japan in a slow pace, then later, when it was released on the national tv, the script came from an European country (I think it was french) so things about ''onda vital'' and shit like that wasn't from Spain. This case applies in some other series too, not all of them of course.

Well, original acting is those 80's or 90's is often terrible, actually. I often find French dubs better in those old series, and it's going beyond the nostalgia factor.
