It wasn't as bad as I expected.
I thought the flaschback would take an eternity, glad it was quick
I really like Elias but he's kinda a letdown character wise. He lost really fast his intimidating and mysterious aura.
Eh, Elias was intimidating because we didn't know much about him before his flashback chapter, but he can still be pretty scary when someone looks at his waifu funny, he just isn't because he is between firends and doesn't want to spook her
Doubt it, I'm 90% sure Elias is being slowly mindbroken by her slay vega powers. The fact that he had a close relationship with Angela in the past yet these emotions are new are only cementing my opinion further
It's getting annoying how he acts like a boring old man while Chise runs around being selfish and spoiled. Letting your 16yr old wife/daughter run around London with recovering drug addicts is kinda spineless. Most normal teens don't get to do stuff like that, let alone inherently suicidal ones.
Its not like Elias has a model of how the human world works but there is also teh fact that wizards work completely different from the normal people in the manga, look at Renfred when he started his relationship when he took an aprentice, there is also the fact that Elias trusts Ruth to step in if things get weird
I liked the Totsukuni no Shoujo crossover.
I hope Nonhuman x Daughteru wander-porn is the next big craze
Somali to Mori no Kami-sama is good too
Well I understand the justifications behind it, but it's kinda a letdown given chapter 1 and how she was bought as a slave for millions of dollars (which is largely irrelevant now).
The entire cast dynamic is starting to feel like reading a shoujo. Elias doesn't really seem to have much will of his own, which is really common for shoujo male leads. Even if he exhibits a selfish desire or 2 it rarely is able to reign in the heroine's own desire, which will always trump his. I bet she'll even go to wizard school in the end too.
>I hope Nonhuman x Daughteru wander-porn is the next big craze
I love cute parents taking care of cute childs stories. Feels bad because they easily devolve into loli/shotacon or romance.
We can always assume one of the profesors will be evil or a jew servant.
No new info yet.
>do we know who is making the soundtrack?
Probably Sawano because of his obvious connections with WIT.
I don't know how to feel about this since his soundtracks like in SnK and KLK don't really look like they would work here but he did some pretty cool calm tracks in Xenoblade I guess
Nothing ntr about kissing your brother in the cheek.
I can't really blame them for hating WIT because they are infamously known for their production disasters (at least on the animation department) but since this one's gonna be a theatrical 3-episode OVA time is no longer an issue.
I wanted Makihara to be the director tbqh
>I bet she'll even go to wizard school in the end too.
Most likely the school will be against her training and living with an immortal demon instead of going to magic school, or something like that.
Two things about this manga:
1) I still dont get how the magic system works but it seems super flawed. Chise cant cast the most basic spells without coughing her organs out or something.
2) Its pretty obvious Chise little brother is alive and somewhere.
>Get to magic school
>Against Elias wishes because you a quirky bishoujo who don't need no man
>Potions teacher is Cartaphilus
>Try to handle it yourself because you a quirky bishoujo who don't need no man
>Elias saves you again
>Still don't need no man
Chise is a special case, she can channel more magic than any other characters that aren't gods of some sort, the problem is taht she is just a human and her body cannot cope with that strain, Renfred and his aprentice can do magic pretty damn well with no side effects
>I still dont get how the magic system works
I'll make a quick drawing of Elias in the proper pose later.
I don't get why Elias has wrecked that pussy if he's so caught up playing pretend. I feel like sex would have some magical purpose and there'd be no reason not to. I guess Elias has some protestant notions of purity.
>I still dont get how the magic system works but it seems super flawed. Chise cant cast the most basic spells without coughing her organs out or something.
Chise bleeds out because her body absorbs more magic and it cant take it.
The magic system differs between users.
The wizards treat it like science, probably having formulas and stuff like that.
Magi? like Elias seem to use various rituals and concoctions as well as spells
i guess the threads will become more active after the anime airs
Didnt realize it was a crossover cover. Thanks for mentioning it.
You're cool anon.
So... Why do the faeries call her Robin?
holy fuck this is new
but somehow i would feel bad fapping to chise. She is too innocent right now.
The faerie king is into him too.
Speaking of which,
genderbent Elias shapeshift when?
Remember Ruth feels everything Chise feels, meaning he will be very aware when she has an orgasm or Ellias fucks her.
The entire thing is that he's playing pretend, I don't see why he hasn't had sex with her yet since it's one of the "going through the motions" things.
Who the fuck taught Elias a sense of Chasity and where can I go to beat them up?
shit was sad
i feel like he is waiting for her to grow up to start thinking about it. And he probably is like a child too and barely has sexual desire so far.
old man was based on his own way. He was way beyond any kind of angst
Somebody taught him about chastity, at least given his reactions in chapter 2. But who knows, since the author can always subtly retcon in more autism whenever.
In case you haven't figured it out, Elias is a complete autistic and isn't even an entirely corporeal being. They keep referring to him as something in between. I'm not sure he even has genitals. I mean his head is a goat's skull.
Fuck Chise for real. Fucking cunt running away to go hang with meth heads in the city. Elias needs to get her to remember he bought her for 707 MILLION DOLLARS with some light-medium S&M.
There are three or four couples in the series and this one's my favorite.
>my father drugged and raped me
>this guy was in the way when a demon wanted eat me alive and got a scratch
>OMG true love!
I dubt people who've been victims in their whole life would trust somebody that easily.
Nips love stockholm syndrome. I'll admit so do I. What's the problem when both parties are happy?
I wish kidnapping a little girl and having her fall for me was as simple in real life, but most girls don't have shoujo heroine empathy and wouldn't see my inner pain.
>have a badass scar to show I am a badass mage
>nah, it was basically just an accident
>I really like Elias but he's kinda a letdown character wise. He lost really fast his intimidating and mysterious aura.
That was the point. The author/mangaka took you through the same trip the MC went through emotionally. Thats why its good. Your feelings for people change as you learn more about them, and mystery is always more attractive and interesting than knowing he's just like a child.
This is something the animefags will praise as 'character development' because it actually uses the character as plot.
>expecting a Japanese author to know anything at all about drugs or druggies
Second, she makes it clear that force-feeding her drugs was, itself, the immediate aim. He's not drugging her so he can drink, or he can beat her, or anything else. He's drugging her for the sake of getting her hooked. Whatever he does after drugging her is unrelated, and there's no evidence he's raping her.
My little wendigo can't be this cute!
considering how young she was and the fact that she went adolescence under reinfreds care, i can see it happen
Cheating typically implies having sex with a human (or in the fantasy setting an intelligent being) that is not your spouse. I don't see how the situation you've described constitutes cheating.
>you will never become the reason slut become tame
>you will never leave a crack in a girl's heart
Yeah I'm implying it's got a lot worse since meeting back up with Lindel in chapter 15.
Became very Chise-centric and she became very self-involved. Before it was magical adventures and mystery solving with Skellyman.
Now it's about Chise fucking off to get big chunks of expansionary dialogue and then returning to the house and Elias at the end of the day.
That's what being a 16 year old girl is though. More so if you're someone's apprentice. That's the literal definition of what an apprentice is. She shouldn't get to become her own person so soon.
The very fact that the manga is called "The Ancient Magus' Bride" shows that she shouldn't be this independent, since it hinges on her beings "someone's bride".
It's not called "Chise Potter"
That doesn't contradict my point though. She can be an "actual person". It doesn't explain why she's become so self-absorbed and detached from Elias recently.
The crackwhore she was hanging out with this chapter was thinking more about her master than Chise was about Elias.
>The crackwhore she was hanging out with this chapter was thinking more about her master than Chise was about Elias.
Because we, the readers, know about pretty much all of Chise's relationship with Elias, but know nothing about Alice's relationship with whatshisface.
That's not much of an excuse. Chise completely forgot about christmas even though she met fucking christmas spirits a couple days ago. The other girl was inviting her to go present shopping, Chise just wanted to hang out and ask about drugs.
Seriously, the girl cost 700 million dollars.
The wandering jew is the baddie, Cartaphilus, not Reinfred.
The story is still focused around her relationship with Ellas. She doesnt need to be a servant for it to work.
That's untrue. She literally forgot all about it.
servant =/= running to faraway locations with strange people you've met once without telling your guardian
>Chise completely forgot about christmas even though she met fucking christmas spirits a couple days ago
Maybe that has something to do with the fact that she spent like six months in fairyland that felt like a few days. And for years before that, probably never celebrated Christmas.
yeah, of course =/=
thats what im saying
The story still works for me.
Forgetting to buy Elias a Christmas present is really a dick move. This is why I'm saying she's self-absorbed because she doesn't understand how grateful she should be to the guy. She should be thinking about the correct way to clean his asshole given the amount of stuff he's given her.
Basically instead of being some fat wizard's onahole she's living a cushy life in an European cottage with a guy who is tirelessly working to cure her terminal disease with 0 strings attached.
Chise needs a good spanking, but Elias too needs to stop being a doormat.
