I can't think of a single anime that actually fits OP's criteria. Any anime that /a/ thinks is "great" will at least be average, or at worst slightly below average. And if it's not, there won't be any semblance of consensus of "greatness."

The closest I could think of would be shows that had a huge following on /a/ and created a lot of hype here, but that the love they got was disproportionate to their actual quality. In that regard I'd say Space Dandy, Kill la Kill, Samurai Flamenco, Symphogear and Yuuki Yuuna all qualify. But none of these are "shit," they are all entertaining in their own way.
