Maybe you can try to do something to sorta remove the voice track from the original. I know the 3DS has an option for that in its music player and it actually sounds decent, so I know it's possible. You could try that and play that one a little louder, plus the original with the voice track in the background to patch up the differences if the altered one doesn't sound good enough.
