the movie is due in about 3 months hence the budget is coming back and we should see a new trailer either next week or next month in order to further establish the events of the movie. DM had 224 since it was based on Kaz's manga but they went faster than he wrote it so they made fillers to stall for time.
GX was supposed to be a sequel and the end of Yugioh with 180 but Kaz just went into 5ds with synchro summoning.
5ds had 154 due to all the filler when it could have ended earlier.
Zexal didn't really have that much filler since it was focused on Astral getting all 100 cards so it went to 146.
Arc-V so far has had Pendulums make the TCG into play PePe or die and is around its halfway mark.
I'd say 140 makes the most sense or 150 depending on how much they want to stall for the movie.
120 for a DM super but I doubt that's happening

So in terms of suffering, in my opinion: Yuya suffered the most (and will continue to suffer even after Synchro arc), Judai has the second most suffering, Yusei was in the middle, Yugi was 4th, and Yuma suffered the least.

This episode is just set up we know Reira and Tsukikage get saved by Yuya and Sora respectively and that this duel will only showcase Yuya's starter deck cards before he dragons out when the main even of Yuri vs Yugo starts on the 7th of February. On top of that the next episode will be on the trails of that month's Vjump so on top of Starve Venom we'll likely be seeing more Celtic Guardians, more from the movie pack and possibly the next batch of episodes.
